If...

If the 13th and 14th Amendments were under as much pressure and the 2nd Amendment has been since Woodrow Wilson's election then Barack Obama would be the half-black janitor at a law firm who was the ONLY black American allowed to cast a vote for President in 2008.

Sanitized for WHOSE protection?

When I first came across a story blurb on Yahoo that came from the AP I was left more curious than informed.

Man accused of selling daughter for cash, beer

GREENFIELD, Calif. – Police have arrested a Greenfield man for allegedly arranging to sell his 14-year-old daughter into marriage in exchange for $16,000, 100 cases of beer and several cases of meat.

...
Police say arranged marriages involving underage girls have become a problem in this small Central Coast farming community.

I was left more curious than informed since nothing in the story gave a clue why a small town farming community might suddenly sprout a rash of using underage daughters as an ATM.

What's interesting is the timestamp for the AP Story: Mon Jan 12, 9:03 pm ET

So I started looking for more stories. It took me a tremendous effort consisting of opening a new browser window, typing in a single search phrase and then clicking on the first couple of resulting links. Too much effort for any reporter to be expected to do.

So, what did I find? I'm beginning to get an inkling based upon another story.

Marcelino de Jesus Martinez was arrested Sunday on suspicion of accepting the offer of money, beer and meat to place his daughter with Margarito de Jesus Galindo, police said.

Police became aware of the transaction after Martinez asked police to return his daughter. The father said the girl had run away, but police came to believe that he wanted her back because her suitor hadn't paid up, Grebmeirer said.

"We were working on this one kind of backward. We hear about these things all the time, but they are kind of tough to investigate or prove," Grebmeier said today.

A different story turned up the photo I posted without giving the names of the the pimping pappa or the baby-raping buyer.

The more detailed report was time stamped: Posted: 01/12/2009 10:38:41 AM PST

Many, many hours BEFORE the AP story.

The story that had the photo was time stamped:
1/12/09 at 7:20 PM. No time zone was indicated but I think it's safe to say Pacific.

I could expect the photo to be missing from the AP story, but the names of the buyer and seller?

WHY?

These names are of adults charged with crimes. That's public record. They are not the victim.

Who is being protected by hiding this information? Why would a farming community suddenly sprout a certain type of crime?

Well, maybe because of who moved in. Without being legal. Someone doing here what they were doin' back in the old country. Why bother to follow the laws and values of a nation you are invading?

We won't know from these stories if the perpetratin' pappa or the cradle-robbin' Romeo are legal. We probably won't be told the truth as this story takes place in California where they protect illegal aliens better than the California Condor.

So Here's to you, Mrs. Robinson

I don't know what the writers were thinking.

Usually you don't bring in the wacky in-laws until second season, or maybe for the late season doldrums.

Look at how that ruined a perennial Neverwas like "The King of Queens". To quote from the Bard (Weird Al)

"The King of Queens jumped the shark the first minute!
I can't believe Richard Simmons ain't in it!"

Yet, here they go, dragging in Michelle's wacky mommy. She can't help but be wacky. After all she raised a daughter who was never proud of her country until her hubby was annointed by the DNC. The daughter that Little O claims was really attending all those sermons from Rev. Wright. Considering the content of her college writings I believe him. She was already seeing white sheets behind every liberal professor at Harvard.

Nevertheless I feel this is a real mistake for the writers of "The Obamas of Pennsylvania Avenue". They are bringing in the new characters too early. The show hasn't even made it's premier airing! We've just had the web teasers on YouMustObeyTube.

We all know the show's main star got a four year contract. They could have arranged to dump batty Michelle so that Little O could go on a soulful quest. To see life as his father saw it. From between the legs of several dozen women, leaving babies everywhere.

Let "The Tudors" put THAT in their greensleeves and smoke it!

Even if they kept it strictly PG without going for some of that T&A that makes cable so much fun we could be treated to double entendres and frisky innuendo. That way Little O would be REALLY recycling the Clinton Years.

"I hear the President gave up smoking."

"No, just Marlboros. Now he's doing cigars!"

{Cue the audience for a "Whoooooaaaaa!"}

If Little O is out there reading I hope he keeps in mind that I can be hired on to help write this schlock. I promise to not be so derviative as his current writers.

Project One Million Texas

Project One Million Texas is a recent undertaking to increase NRA membership in Texas.

I've had my own disagreements with some of the directions the NRA leadership has gone but what can NOT be argued is that we need as many voices as possible promoting 2nd Amendment issues in Washington and in the states and in the municipalities.

If we are voting members of the NRA then we have a voice in who and how the NRA is lead. If we don't belong then we have no voice.

If you already belong to the NRA then also find out your state associate organization and join there.

For more information go to Project One Million Texas.

Is it April already?

It may be the start of the year but I found something I no longer expect.

An almost honest story from the AP.

Many illegal immigrants live in public housing

Okay, so they are late to the party by several decades. If you live in a major sanctuary city, like Denver, you know that more than half of the people you see in Section 8 housing are flying funny paper. Whether it's a fake Social Security card or a Matricula card there are more than enough illegal aliens using up tax money that they don't pay into.

Untold thousands of illegal immigrants live in public housing at a time when hundreds of thousands of citizens and legal residents are stuck waiting years for a spot.

Illegal immigrants make up a tiny portion of the 7.1 million people in federal housing, according to government statistics. But authorities may be unaware of thousands more, and critics say no illegal immigrant should get housing benefits.

The issue made headlines in November with news that Zeituni Onyango, an aunt of President-elect Barack Obama, was living in Boston public housing while in the country illegally.

It's untold thousands because the agencies charged with abusing taxpayer money refuse to make sure that only legal citizens get benefits that taxpaying citizens paid for.

Now, I wonder why there aren't any exposes in the NYT or WaPo of American journalists trying to get free benefits in say, Mexico? Is it because they know damned well that being an illegal alien in Mexico is not fun? That Mexicans treat non-citizens like criminals? Then those same Mexicans send their relatives up here and demand that we NOT treat them like criminals.

Now try that in France. Want to find out how bad French prison food is? Try working in France without the right papers. You'll be eating a lot of pate' du garbage pail.

While there are no hard numbers on illegal immigrants in public housing, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development reports that 29,570 people — 0.4 percent of all those in federally funded housing — are "ineligible noncitizens." Some may be on temporary visas, such as highly educated workers or college students, but many are believed to be illegal immigrants.

Nice how our paid flunkies can come up with terms like "ineligible noncitizen" to mean "FREELOADING ILLEGAL ALIEN". Now if they would do the right thing and kick out anyone staying in public housing who doesn't belong in our country then we wouldn't be having such a crisis in finding public housing.

Why is it so hard to understand? If we really must have welfare housing then we should strictly limit it to no one except legal residents and citizens with NO TOLERANCE.

The HUD tally does not offer a full picture of how many illegal immigrants are in public housing.

It doesn't include housing funded by state and local governments, where eligibility requirements vary. Massachusetts, where Obama's aunt occupied one of about 50,000 state-funded units, doesn't ask immigration status under a 1977 federal consent decree in a class-action lawsuit that prohibits the state from denying the benefit to illegal immigrants.

Other illegal immigrants may live in public housing without notifying authorities.

So what this reporter is admitting is what I said at the start. If you look you will see that a HUGE percentage of pubic housing is being used by FREELOADING ILLEGAL ALIENS.

Thanks to the Barack Bailouts that have happened and will happen in the months to come our federal deficits are growing faster than Obama's ego.

Is it too much to ask that we finally DEMAND that only legal residents and citizens get public assistance? With the economy in the toilet those jobs that Americans won't do are getting harder and harder to find. What I don't want is a bunch of FREELOADING ILLEGAL ALIENS hanging around for more handouts. They weren't here to do jobs in the first place. They were here for the freebies.

Year In Review

For reasons best known to the entirely slanted Obama-worshipping MSM every "year in review" article in print and on the web is trying to beat up on Sarah Palin.

I really, really want to understand why a woman who didn't try to ram her way into national politics (unlike a certain Kennedy) who is no longer in a position to defeat the media's chosen messiah is being trashed.

I don't want the stupid lies told to the public about why they are doing this. I want real answers that reveal true motivations.

To help me understand this I will require the participation of some members of the press. I am asking for volunteers.

I'm certain I will come to understand why they are doing this. It will just take time. And some tools.

I'm sure I'll get to the true motivations, eventually.

'Tis The Season

And Obama keeps on giving.

This week while he is safely away from questioning reporters his staff released the delayed report on what the President Elect's staff talked to Blagojevich.

This story, in case you haven't noticed, went from "no contact" to "no inappropriate contact" and now comes a completely self-generated report that says there was contact but that Obama's Chief of Staff hasn't got anything to do with pay for play.

All before the public gets to find out which names goes with which code name.

Nothing to see here! Move along!

So, when do we get to find out the truth?

If there is one thing that we, as the American citizenry, have come to know is that when a politician says "nothing to see" there's got to be a dead body, a naked intern and loads of dirty money somewhere nearby.

When Ted Stevens was saying "nothing to see" did that stop the investigations? When Larry Craig said "nothing to see" did that stop people from BOTH parties from trying to get him out of office? When John Edwards said "nothing to see" the MSM couldn't open their eyes but the tabloids were soon spilling the real beans.

So, why should we believe Obama when he says "nothing to see"? Why shouldn't we keep looking for that naked, dead body holding a fistful of dirty money?

There are plenty of people who fear that Obama will be assassinated. I've insisted that he'll survive his one, and only, term. I've been tempering that. He could become the first President to commit suicide.

That would be a real shame.

As much damage as this man is sure to do to America in the next four years I look forward to seeing him squirm, shudder, grimace and turn pale with the crushing truth that he is not fit for this job. Unlike being a "community organizer" or board member or even U.S. Senator this job isn't one that a man can coast through.

I want to see it happening, day-by-day. I want to see him looking haunted. I want him to feel the presence of the men who sat in his office before him as they look upon his term and condemn it.

He's a lost cause and he hasn't even been sworn in.

Fasten your seat belt, Barry. This hand basket is on the downhill ride to Hell. Those abs you are so proud of will be flab in two years and you'll be chain smoking. Just try to stay off the nose candy.

Christmas comes early

I know that the MSM will not be honest with this. Nor even dishonest they were with Bush.

On Nov. 9 Barack Obama issued a statement:
"I have had no contact with the governor or his office, so I was unaware of what was happening.”

Yet a story filed in the MSM on November 8 states:
Now that Barack Obama will be moving to the White House, his seat in the U.S Senate representing Illinois will have to be filled.

Obama met with Governor Rod Blagojevich earlier this week to discuss it.
Illinois law states that the governor chooses that replacement.

What this means is that Little O, the empty suit incarnate has been caught in a very public lie and he hasn't even taken the oath of office!

Considering that this very public lie concerns a matter of corruption I do feel that this is a much, much bigger deal than Clinton lying about his sex with Lewinsky. It was the entire U.S. that Blago was going to screw.

Read more at Newsbusters.

UPDATE!

This is a gift that keeps on giving.

The identity of "Client #5" for the senate seat?

Jesse Jackson, Jr.

It suddenly makes sense why the AG did not wait until the Gov had announced the winner of the Creepstakes to sell a Senate seat. If he did then he would also have to make an arrest on this lying sack of suet.

Imagine the outrage, the riots and the weeping and gnashing of teeth if Jesse Jackson, Jr. had to do the perp walk along with Blago the Corrupt.

If the AG could keep this to just arresting the White guy and not the son of a race-baiting publicity hound and all around parasite then he won't face having his family murdered by those misunderstood youth of Chicagoland.

The story at Hot Air.

And now a word from the Empty Suit

When reached for comment on the Blagojevich scandal Barack Obama issued this statement:

"Rod Blagojevich is just this guy from the neighborhood. We may have bumped into each other once or twice but I don't really know him."

Readers are reminded that Barack Obama no longer allows questions about his past associations with Bill Ayers, Rev. Wright, Tony Resko or Osama bin Laden, who was another guy in the neighborhood.

An outrage

Does anyone out there still deny that the ACLU isn't standing up for EVERYONE?

Here's a perfect example of someone's First Amendment rights being trampled and there's not one ACLU zombie in sight.

A Marine veteran whose anti-terrorist and anti-Islam vehicle decals hindered him in visiting the grave of his fallen son at Arlington National Cemetery has filed a federal lawsuit challenging the military order which rebuked his display of the decals.

Jesse Nieto, a 25-year Marine veteran, served two combat tours in Vietnam. His youngest son, Marc, was one of the seventeen sailors killed in the terrorist bombing of the U.S.S. Cole in October of 2000.

Since 1994 Nieto has been a civilian employee at the Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. In 2001 he began displaying various decals on his vehicle expressing sentiments such as “Remember the Cole, 12 Oct 2000,” “Islam=Terrorism” and “We Died, They Rejoiced.”

On July 31, 2008, two military police officers ticketed Nieto for displaying “offensive material.”

After Nieto refused to remove all allegedly offending decals from his vehicle, the Base Magistrate issued a written order ordering Nieto to remove his vehicle from the base until all decals were removed. The order banned his vehicle from all other federal installations, and reportedly prevented him from driving onto the grounds of Arlington National Cemetery.

The Ann Arbor-based Thomas More Law Center filed a federal civil rights lawsuit this week on Nieto’s behalf against the Camp Lejeune Commanding Officer and the Base Magistrate in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina. The lawsuit claims that the military’s ban on Nieto’s vehicle decals violates his constitutional rights to freedom of speech and the equal protection of the law.

“The banning of these decals is political correctness run amuck in the military,” charged Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center. “Our troops are being killed by Islamic terrorists, 9/11 was caused by Islamic terrorists, these terrorists want to destroy America, the Islamic countries persecute Christians, and now the military is victimizing a father whose son was killed by Islamic terrorists while serving our nation.”

Liberals are fond of lying about the ACLU claiming it's for EVERYONE. They can't name a single example, however, of the ACLU fighting for the 2nd Amendment. Too bad we can't get an ACLU lawyer to sue the ACLU for false advertising. They need to correct the name of the organization. American CERTAIN Liberties Union would be truthful.

It is shameful, though, that ANY veteran would be ticketed for practicing his freedom of speech. That the veteran's freedom of speech is underscored by the loss of his son and the message being suppressed is the truth of who killed that son is beyond shameful.

And now a few words from kindly Uncle Ted

Like any entity that abandons basic quality control, political parties rot from within. It happened to the Democrats long ago, and now has become the case with the Republican Party, which has strayed from its conservative underpinnings.

There are really only four things I have a strong aversion to: unloaded guns, dull knives, banjos, and Republicans in Name Only (RINOs).

...

RINOs reach across Fedzilla's aisle to cut deals and build consensus with the liberals. Consensus building means compromising values and cutting deals with the socialist prankster punksters whose goal it is to turn America into EuroAmerica.

...

My specialty is making Fedzilla punks squirm and turn into a puddle of sweat and drool. Therefore, in the spirit of famous butt kickers Generals Chesty Puller and George Patton, I say we launch an attack on all fronts. Uncle Ted hereby declares it is open season on RINOs. No bag limits or permits required. Conservative ideas, arguments and votes are the weapons we will use. Hunt them down and shine a blazing light on these RINO turncoat cockroaches. Zero in the "we the people" crosshairs of your voting assault weapon and aim for the RINO pumpstation. Double tap center mass. Whack em and stack em, track em and hack em, pack em and give em no slack. Let's do to the RINO beasts what we did to the passenger pigeon. Force out of the Republican Party out the subspecies known as RINOs.

Now, go read the rest.

Obama Win Causes Obsessive Supporters To Realize How Empty Their Lives Are

Sunday, November 09, 2008

The Aftermath

On the plus side I see that many are waking up. Gun owners are starting to think about where they have been giving their votes. Normally the John McCains of the world could count on gun owner votes and then screw us, hard, when they wanted to "reach across the aisle".

This looks like it could change in a big way. For one thing the Republicans are wallowing in self-pity and backstabbing each other. Doesn't make them very attractive.

Additionally the Republicans are aiming a howitzer at their own feet. Sarah Palin was one of the best things the Republicans have done since REAGAN left office. For gun owners both Bushes were either treating us with neglect or conniving against us. To let whiny cowards go around and tell tales to eager scribblers is a major mistake on the part of the Republicans.

Let's put it out there. She has more going for her than Ron Paul ever will. She has the charisma to kick the teeth out of any one. Look at the Palinmania with the entire MSM trying to club her to death like a baby seal. The Republican party should be bending over and kissing her snow boots and begging her to lead them. Instead they are looking to keep putting up more old white guys who haven't had an original thought, ever. They are going to keep paying money for focus groups and media consultants and ignore the very real reaction of people's guts.

PEOPLE love Sarah Palin. The PRESS loved Barack Obama.

So what does that hold for us? It holds that 2010 could be a continuation of the hemorrhaging of Republican seats. Then some other never was running against Obama in 2012.

By then Obama is going to make Jimmy Carter look good but you aren't going to win against even that piss-poor of a President if you are trying to run John McCain, Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee.

The Republicans can learn from what failed and discard it. They can learn from what worked and run with it. Dump the RINOs. ALL of them, no matter their win/loss record. Get conservative or go broke. Not one of them has the chance that Lieberman took in 2006 by running independent and they won't survive running Democrat.

Run real conservatives and make sure they VOTE conservative on the job.

Or....

The American Conservative Party could be taking over in 2012 with THEIR candidate, Sarah Palin.

The Prediction

I hope that I'm wrong but it looks like Obama will take just enough electoral college votes to cinch the election. McCain will phone his concession speech sometime before 6:00 AM on 11/5/08.

Despite the boasts from the left over civil war if their Messiah is not handed the Oval Office in the worst case scenario of affirmative action there will be riots BECAUSE he won in the usual places. Don't expect the ringleaders of such riots to face any jail times over that set of crimes.

I hope that I have to update this post to say that I got it wrong.

We'll see what the update brings.

UPDATE:

With all due respect to Fits and Lem and Xavier who never gave up hope I hate to admit to being right.

When you spend as long as I have walking around with the Curse of Cassandra as my personal albatross you get used to seeing the train wreck happening long before the train leaves the station. No matter what you do that wreck is going to happen. And no one will believe you when you tell them about it.

Now recall the rest of the prediction.

Obama is going to be known, long before his four years are up, as the worst President in U.S. history. My HOPE is that starting tomorrow Reid and Pelosi start trying to steal this election away from the empty suit. Their power struggle will help make sure this nation isn't too badly damaged before 2012.

There will be no assassination of Obama. That's just horseshit from all those Kennedy idolaters who dream of what never was and never would be.

IF the RNC will finally wake up and smell the coffee they have a chance at making 2010 look like a repeat of 1992. If they keep on ignoring the conservatives, though, they will continue to be a dying party. If you want to win return to conservatism. Whoever rises to the top of the RNC in the coming days needs to have that fact pounded into his head, tattooed to the inside of his eye lids and have it playing 24/7 in his mp3 player. Pandering to illegals, continue to stab the gun owners in the back and hope your big campaign contributors can buy you an election are all Democrat strategies. They don't work for Republicans. Two elections should be more than enough evidence of this.

To everyone else put your national plans on the back burner and work on the local level. From dog catcher on up to governors and get ready for the 2010 races. Encourage your state government to deny the feds control. Emphasize state's rights.

With luck Obama won't get around to putting too many butts in federal robes before the Gruesome Twosome of Pelosi and Reid find themselves returned to the back bench. That will slow the damage Empty Suit can do.

In the New Age circles there have been those who make something out of the Mayan calendar putting a terminus on our present epoch in 2012. That's about the time that Empty Suit comes to the end of his one and only term.

As yet I don't think the two are more than coincidence. YET.

Just food for thought.

The News On Gun Laws

Once again we have a news story that will be forever divorced from "the rest of the story."

No doubt by now millions of people saw the headlines about this Halloween's murder of a 12 year old by someone shooting from inside their house.

What isn't in the headline is that the shooter was a convicted felon. You know. The kind of person who can't legally buy a gun.

Yep, that's right. Can't buy a gun legally.

So how'd he come to have a gun?

Don't expect any of the press who favor misleading stories to ask that question. They are busy writing stories of how the Mexican drug lords are getting their guns from the U.S. Never mind that these guys have full auto weapons that can't be legally imported to the U.S. for civilian sale. They MUST be coming from the U.S. gun culture and not coming into Mexico because of that nation's long-standing history of corruption in law enforcement.

Back to the story here.

Police say the 22-year-old ex-convict told them he'd been robbed and shot in the past.

Well, that truly justifies his response, doesn't it? Had this guy been someone with a job and a life he'd be looking at having everything he ever owned taken away and spending 25 or more years in prison. Since he is a low-life with a record he'll probably be back on the street in time for Thanksgiving.

An important read

When Christopher Buckley decided to turn his political back on truth, honesty and everything that fed him and his family he did so knowing he'd never miss a meal, never be living paycheck to paycheck.

In the same online venue that he announced his vote for Obama a woman who has actually worked inside the Obama, Clinton and Edwards campaigns writes of why she is voting for McCain.

Naturally you won't hear about this on the MSM. Don't expect to read it in the newspaper. This is heretical thought, someone speaking bad about the Messiah.

I'll put up some important parts but I think you should put this article in the lap of anyone you know who supports Obama.

So Long, Democrats

A speechwriter for Obama, Edwards, and Clinton on why she’s voting McCain.

Since I started writing speeches more than ten years ago, I have always believed in the Democratic Party. Not anymore. Not after the election of 2008. This transformation has been swift and complete and since I’m a woman writing in the election of 2008, “very emotional.”
...
See campaigns get complicated when you’ve written for so many Democrats. Not only had I written for Senator Edwards, but I had also been Senator Hillary Clinton’s speechwriter. Senator Joe Biden is a “good looking” man and his care after my father almost died from an aneurysm is the kind of kindness you never forget. When I saw Edwards at a traffic light in D.C. about a year after our meeting, he asked for help and I did and it was an honor to help him with his concession speech. And when the primary ended, it was a privilege to help Michelle Obama with a stump speech, be considered as a speechwriter for the V.P. nominee again, and send friends in Chicago ideas until the financial crisis hit. This is what the Democratic Party has been for me; it’s family. Now, it doesn’t even feel like a distant cousin.

This drift started on a personal level with the fall of former Senator John Edwards. It got stronger during the Democratic National Convention when I counted the substantive mentions of poverty on one hand and a whole bunch of bad canned partisan lines against Senator John McCain. Some faith was lifted after Senator Hillary Clinton’s grace during a difficult hour. But that faith was dashed when I saw that someone had raided the Caligula set and planted the old columns at Invesco Field.

The final straw came the other week when Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (a.k.a Joe the Plumber) asked a question about higher taxes for small businesses. Instead of celebrating his aspirations, they were mocked. He wasn’t “a real plumber,” and “They’re fighting for Joe the Hedge-Fund manager,” and the patronizing, “I’ve got nothing but love for Joe the Plumber.”
...
As the nation slouches toward disaster, the level of political discourse is unworthy of this moment in history. We have Republicans raising Ayers and Democrats fostering ageism with “erratic” and jokes about Depends. Sexism. Racism. Ageism and maybe some Socialism have all made their ugly cameos in election 2008. It’s not inspiring. Perhaps this is why I found the initial mocking of Joe so offensive and I realized an old line applied: “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party; the Democratic Party left me.”

The party I believed in wouldn’t look down on working people under any circumstance. And Joe the Plumber is right. This is the absolutely worst time to raise taxes on anyone: the rich, the middle class, the poor, small businesses and corporations.

Our economy is in the tank for many complicated reasons, especially because people don’t have enough money. So let them keep it. Let businesses keep it so they can create jobs and stay here and weather this storm. And yet, the Democratic ideology remains the same. Our approach to problems—big government solutions paid for by taxing the rich and big and smaller companies—is just as tired and out of date as trickle down economics. How about a novel approach that simply finds a sane way to stop the bleeding?

...

Governor Palin and I don’t agree on a lot of things, mostly social issues. But I have grown to appreciate the Governor. I was one of those initial skeptics and would laugh at the pictures. Not anymore. When someone takes on a corrupt political machine and a sitting governor, that is not done by someone with a low I.Q. or a moral core made of tissue paper. When someone fights her way to get scholarships and work her way through college even in a jagged line, that shows determination and humility you can’t learn from reading Reinhold Niebuhr. When a mother brings her son with special needs onto the national stage with love, honesty, and pride, that gives hope to families like mine as my older brother lives with a mental disability. And when someone can sit on a stage during the Sarah Palin rap on Saturday Night Live, put her hands in the air and watch someone in a moose costume get shot—that’s a sign of both humor and humanity.

...

But thank God for election 2008. We can talk about the wardrobe and make-up even though most people don’t understand the details about Senator Obama’s plan with Iraq. When he says, “all combat troops,” he’s not talking about all troops—it leaves a residual force of as large as 55,000 indefinitely. That’s not ending the war; that’s half a war.

I was dead wrong about the surge and thought it would be a disaster. Senator John McCain led when many of us were ready to quit. Yet we march on as if nothing has changed, wedded to an old plan, and that too is a long way from the Democratic Party.

I can no longer justify what this party has done and can’t dismiss the treatment of women and working people as just part of the new kind of politics. It’s wrong and someone has to say that. And also say that the Democratic Party’s talking points—that Senator John McCain is just four more years of the same and that he’s President Bush—are now just hooker lines that fit a very effective and perhaps wave-winning political argument…doesn’t mean they’re true. After all, he is the only one who’s worked in a bipartisan way on big challenges.

Before I cast my vote, I will correct my party affiliation and change it to No Party or Independent. Then, in the spirit of election 2008, I’ll get a manicure, pedicure, and my hair done. Might as well look pretty when I am unemployed in a city swimming with “D’s.”

This woman is much more important than Christopher Buckley. He's got money and he got it the old-fashioned way. He inherited it.

Now that he has his he can afford to be a diletante. He'll never be out on the street. His bills will be paid. He'll still be flying first class anywhere he wants to go.

This woman is biting the hand that fed her with just cause. She knows she's not going to get handed work by Republicans and if the MSM gets their way there won't be many Republicans around to get work from, now she won't get work from Democrats.

She does have to worry over where her next meal is coming from.

When you really don't risk anything it's easy to be courageous. That's Mr. Buckley, through and through.

When you know that speaking out will very likely cost you everything then you are being courageous.

Did someone put something in the water?

It looks like local newscaster who are normally engaging in puff pieces when interviewing major candidates.

First there was Barbara West at WFTV. Now it looks like Philadelphia news station was wanting to get some of the Biden butt.

The Obama campaign has barred this crew from interviewing him. Of course John McCain can't afford the policy of not appearing on shows where he is asked hard questions or he'd never appear anywhere.

Now we have proof - Updated - Updated again

The BATFE are true piss ants. They now crow about breaking up plots that are little more than losers with big plans.

Naturally the MSM is hawking this one because of the special election year plan to go on a crime spree ending in assassination, like these losers could have stuck up a 7-11 without fucking up.

Ohhhh, but they are RACISTS!

So naturally they have super human capabilities that make them more worthy of attention than people that murder children, blow up buildings or refuse to enact oversight legislation on Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac (YES, I mean YOU, Barney Frank, you treasonous son of a bitch!).

Feds disrupt skinhead plot to assassinate Obama

If you believe that one I've got some ocean front property for sale in Colorado that is got your name ALL OVER IT!

WASHINGTON – Federal agents have broken up a plot by two neo-Nazi skinheads to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives said Monday.

In court records unsealed Monday, federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school in a murder spree that was to begin in Tennessee. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of ATF's Nashville field office, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.

The men also sought to go on a national killing spree, with Obama as its final target, Cavanaugh told The Associated Press.

"They said that would be their last, final act — that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama," Cavanaugh said. "They didn't believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying."

An Obama spokeswoman traveling with the senator in Pennsylvania had no immediate comment.

The men, Daniel Cowart, 20, of Bells, Tenn., and Paul Schlesselman 18, of West Helena, Ark., are being held without bond. Agents seized a rifle, a sawed-off shotgun and three pistols from the men when they were arrested. Authorities alleged the two men were preparing to break into a gun shop to steal more.

Attorney Joe Byrd, who has been hired to represent Cowart, did not immediately return a call seeking comment Monday.

Cowart and Schlesselman are charged with possessing an unregistered firearm, conspiring to steal firearms from a federally licensed gun dealer, and threatening a candidate for president.

The investigation is continuing, and more charges are possible, Cavanaugh said.

Even those deranged nutjobs that wear swastikas or white sheets would have found this pair's plan laughable. They couldn't hold a job, let alone carry out a crime spree.

I have my doubts they could count to 14. 12 is easy when you have extra digits on each hand but beyond that the inbred normally have trouble. Just ask Joe Biden how many letters in JOBS.

It is time that the MSM admitted two facts. First, no one with any real skills is plotting to kill Obama. He really isn't worth it and putting Biden in the White House really would defeat the purpose. Going from a really, really piss poor dumbfuck to a gaffe machine who is even more incompetent would be a no-win situation.

The second fact is that the BATFE are cowards. They were cowards when they saddled up to assault Waco and most of the casualties taken by the BATF that day were caused by friendly fire from fellow BATF agents. That agency mostly serves as an example of how much more incompetent one can be for FBI agents. "Hey, compared to those guys we are pretty good!" It's like having a team of bad players competing agianst a team of drooling embiciles.

Like having? Or isn't that what we really have?

Anyway, the facts are out there. The BATFE consists of lying, stealing, petty, vindictive, murdering cowards. They set up a couple of bubbas that are "gonna" do bad things.

Too bad these two are such poster children for the boogey man that the Brady Bunch keeps waving. It would be interesting to see the shotgun contested under a revisit of Miller, this time with a lawyer from the plaintiff's side showing up instead of just the attorney from the government.

UPDATE!

Reporters have finally figured out how to troll for photos on MySpace. Courtesy of that knowledge that is only 10 years late comes this photo of one of the Nazi-wannabes.

What anyone worth their 2nd Amendment should note is that this idjit has his boogerhook on the bang button.

What do we call people who pose like this and even put those photos out in public?

(Cue reverb) IDIOTSsssss Withhhhhh GUNNNNnnnnnnnnnnnssssssssss! (Reverbbbb offffff. OFF I SAID!)

I credit the wise and wonderful Xavier, my blog father, with starting this exercise in education.

He had featured such regularly on his blog Xavier Thoughts and now he has launched a baby blog for this feature alone. Take a peek at his work. You can thank me for turning you on to him later.

Idiots With Guns archive.

Update again!

Despite the BATFE rushing out to show how brave they are to point at the boogey men with the swastikas it seems that even the "authorities" have trouble swallowing this pair of losers as a credible threat to more than a case of beer.

Authorities say skinhead plot wasn't fully formed

Ya don't say, Sherlock! Stupid ol' me could see that. So why can't the BATFE?

Oh, right. They have to show something accomplished to their presumed leader.

To honor the foiling of the White Tux Terror Plot let's put in a musical number:

Boy, 8, killed in Mass. gun show accident

WESTFIELD, Mass. – An 8-year-old boy died after accidentally shooting himself in the head while firing an Uzi submachine gun under adult supervision at a gun fair.

The boy lost control of the weapon while firing it Sunday at the Machine Gun Shoot and Firearms Expo at the Westfield Sportsman's Club, police Lt. Lawrence Vallierpratte said.

The boy, Christopher Bizilj of Ashford, Conn., was with a certified instructor and "was shooting the weapon down range when the force of the weapon made it travel up and back toward his head, where he suffered the injury," a police statement said.

Christopher died at Baystate Medical Center.

Police said the boy's father, Charles Bizilj, attended the event with his son. The father is the medical director of emergency medicine at Johnson Memorial Hospital, in Stafford Springs, Conn.

Although police called it a "self-inflicted accidental shooting," police and the Hampden district attorney's office were investigating, officials said.

"We are going to review all the circumstance regarding what happened, who was involved, what authorities they may or may not have had, who was supervising," District Attorney William Bennett said Monday.

It is legal for children to fire a weapon if they have permission from a parent or legal guardian and are supervised by a properly certified and licensed instructor, Lt. Hipolito Nunez said.

The above story is an important one to note. I don't know if someone wasn't doing all they could. I wasn't there.

What I do know is that you could fill a couple of school buses with 8 year old boys killed on bicycles, swimming pools, skate boards and playgrounds every year.

While one child's death is a tragedy it is nothing compared to the tragedy of letting criminals become the only armed persons in our society. Look south, to Mexico, where citizens are forbidden effective self-defense. The government has no control over significant parts of the country because the drug lords, already in the import/export business, are well armed with full-auto firearms.

How many 8 year old Mexican boys are dead because of crime in that nation?

A lot more than shoot themselves accidentally while at a gun range up here.

Suffer the children

Did anyone ever notify the kids in those Obamatot commercials about what this guy was really about?

The "One" in his OWN WORDS explaining "spreading the wealth".

On YouTube a poster named Naked Emperor News comes up with good video and audio and highlights the relevant sections.

The latest post is regarding Obama's long-standing positions on "spreading the wealth around".

It's pure socialism and he intends to use it for the benefit of African Americans.

He's not interested in making sure the playing field is level so that people who work hard share in opportunity. He wants to take from those who have to give to those who won't work. In that way he can keep the won't works indebted to him and his party.

Looks promising

Not the political scene. That still is more horrifying than all the slasher pics ever made.

Let's face it. The Obamabots shuffle through life like extras on a "Living Dead" set. "Change! Change!"

No, the promising is a book I followed a link to. Since money is tight it may be a time before I can actually read it.

A tale of two hoaxes

Two news stories crossed paths this weekend. One that should have been resolved and one new one that will be short-lived.

At the center of both are troubled women and racism.

Ashley Todd is probably a name and face familiar to you by now. She's the college student who took the year off to work for the McCain campaign and has admitted (after less than 24 hours) that she was perpetrating a hoax. Quite rightly most news sources, including Fox, Hot Air, Newsbusters and such took this pill with caution. They waited to see how it would pan out before starting to call for people's heads.

Ms. Todd's hoax featured a boogey man right out of some poorly drawn, worse written KKK or White Power comic book. She is facing criminal prosecution for filing a false police report.

Meanwhile back at the ranch...

We have quite another story. Someone who by all rights should be wearing a prison jumpsuit is pimping her new book where she continues to slander men proven innocent.

Crystal Mangum is a name familiar to anyone who has read of the Duke Lacrosse players who were falsely accused of rape. We know the story, including the fact that faculty members wanted to destroy the accused men without any proof, just the words of the accuser.

Even after the physical evidence cleared the accused there were faculty who would not apologize for calling for a lynching.

It is less well known that while Nifong got a slap on the wrist sentence and disbarred (instead of tarred, feathered and publicly executed to warn all the rest of the DAs what can happen when they railroad innocent people) Mangum was never charged.

Now, let's go into this. Ashley Todd recanted in less than 24 hours.

Mangum STILL insists she was raped and is publishing a book. She is NOT sorry she attempted to destroy three innocent people and is sucking around for sympathy. And cash. Lots of cash.

This disparity brings to mind another infamous charge or racisim and rape. Tawana Brawley. She was never brought up on criminal charges, either.

It is interesting to note that even KNOWING that the accused were innocent Patrica J. Williams wrote of Brawley "has been the victim of some unspeakable crime. No matter how she got there. No matter who did it to her— and even if she did it to herself."

I really must ask: Is this what Patricia J. Williams would say of Ashley Todd?

I'll put money that she won't.

Go ahead, smirk, you self-righteous prick

Yes, smirk.

Having behaved like a banana republic dictator by trying to strip his constituents of their rights Michael Bloomberg has now moved on to becoming Dictator For Life.

New York City is officially becoming a Third World nation within the borders of the United States.

Mr Bloomberg was due to stand down from the high-profile job after his second term in office, which would normally be his last, at the end of next year.

The billionaire businessman had asked for the law to be overturned.

He said the financial crisis on Wall Street and his record as mayor meant he deserved the chance to re-run.

Right, you lying sack of shit. You had all this time as mayor during good years so now that the trouble has finally hit the fan you want a "do over" card because of your own mismanagement.

Head 'em up 'n move 'em out!

I'll admit I wasn't keeping up with The High Road. That forum served me well when I lived in Colorado. I did a lot of my shopping over there. Not so much since I moved to Texas and found very, very active local boards.

That said I was perturbed to learn of a War In Heaven, or at least a War on the Web. Seems some folks wanted to take what Oleg Volk started and try to make personal profit from it.

I don't know your opinion but that's what the comments section is for. Out here on the front page I get the only opinion that counts.

What they did to Oleg Volk sucks. It was wrong, wrong, wrong. THR became THR because of Oleg Volk and the people he chose as moderators. The attracted the users.

I'm not running anyone down by saying this. I'm saying that what's right is right and that board was Oleg Volk as much as his photographs. Just because you built the camera doesn't make you Oleg Volk or the photographs. It must makes you a tool. And that's the kind of person who tried to take THR away from Oleg.

So Oleg is moving. I would recommend others to give a thought to bookmarking the new The High Road at http://www.thehighroad.us

The following is from an e-mail announcement by Oleg Volk.

I don't know the guy personally. Wish I did but I'm still happy to be able to see his work and share his joy of freedom, firearms and fun.

Welcome to the new home of The High Road(tm) forum. My name is Oleg Volk,
and I am the owner of The High Road(tm). When I started the forum in
2002, my vision was to create a place where people from around the world could
engage in cordial discussion of RKBA related matters. Since
then, you have helped make The High Road(tm) one of the best places on the web
for learning about firearms, for educating new shooters and for supporting
effective advocacy of the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Due to pending legal
issues, I am moving the forum to a new home at TheHighRoad.us. This is the
one and only official site at this time, owned by me. The same high
standards of civility apply. In the near future, we will provide more than just
a forum. The High Road(tm) is becoming an information and activism center for
the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. With the help of GeoVario, our new host, The
High Road(tm) is now online in its new home. The new location of The High
Road(tm) -- http://www.thehighroad.us -- will serve our members while the
conversion of the .org domain name by THR's former sysadmin is being challenged
in court (Copy of the complaint available: http://www.geovario.com/legal/Complaint1.pdf ). Feel free to
mirror this announcement on your blog (here is a link to mine with details of
this matter and how you can help. http://olegvolk.livejournal.com/474369.html ). If you link to
THR, please update the link to point to thehighroad.us Eventually, both
.us and .org addresses will point to the same site again. Thank you all - Oleg
Volk, Owner The High Road(tm)

Bookies suspend bets on alien landing

WORRIED bookmakers have stopped taking bets on aliens showing up on Earth.

It follows a flurry of bets amid internet buzz that a massive intergalactic spaceship will appear tomorrow.

Videos and messages on YouTube, blogs and UFO websites are buzzing with predictions that a vessel from the alien Federation Of Light will be visible in our skies for three days.

It may all sound more oddball than odds-on - but bookies William Hill are taking it seriously enough to temporarily suspend betting on proof of the existence of intelligent alien life being confirmed by PM Gordon Brown.

...

The rumour is believed to have been started by "channeler" Blossom Goodchild, who claimed to have received a psychic tip-off.

The stories have spread, along with a warning it would "cause panic among the masses".

One message claims: "They have carefully selected this time to show up and are doing it out of goodwill because of the great evils behind this world.

"It is time to become free from wars, pestilence, famine, poverty, sickness, disease, rich and poor and all the world sufferings."

Spokespersons for the Obama campaign confirm that Obama plans to declare war on the aliens.

"Obama is here to free us from wars, pestilence, famine, poverty, sickness, disease, rich and poor. Well, he's certainly going to free us from the burden of being rich!" Spokesperson Gwen Ifill stated.

MSNBC has gone to full 24 hour coverage of the alien crisis. Tune in this evening as Kieth Olbermann announces that the aliens are "THE WORST PERSONS IN THE UNIVERSE!" for daring to try and co-opt the message of Hope and Change brought to you only by Obama.

Remember, you can't spell Berkinow without B.O.

UPDATE!

The Obama campaign has learned that the aliens have arrived without the required visas. They have made a hasty about-face on the issue, giving them promises of full citizenship and instant status as welfare recipients.

"When others say we can't welcome invaders to our planet I say 'Yes we can!'" Obama is quoted as saying.

Spokesperson for the aliens, Ron Paul, says that the offer is proof there is no intelligent life on this planet and they visit has been canceled.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program of after dinner music featuring Glen Miller and his band performing "Stardust".

Genius In France

Dennis Hopper has played psychotic characters so long he may have finally become unhinged.

Dennis Hopper, the US actor-director perhaps best known for the 1969 road-movie "Easy Rider", is praying for victory by Barack Obama in next month's elections, he said on Monday.

"I voted for Bush, father and son, but this time I'll vote for Obama," he told journalists at the opening of a show on his life and work at the Paris cinematheque.

Hopper is to be handed France's order of Commander of Arts and Letters by the culture minister later Monday.

"I was the first person in my family to have been Republican," he added. "For most of my life I wasn't on the left."

"I was the first person in my family to have been Republican," he added. "For most of my life I wasn't on the left."

"I pray God, Barack Obama is elected," he said, criticising (sic) the current administration's many "lies."

It is fitting that Hopper has chosen to support Obama since he's ticked off at "lies". The best thing to do when you think you are lied to is go find someone you KNOW DAMN WELL is going to lie to you, over and over and over.

This choice makes you, Dennis Hopper, a GENIUS IN FRANCE!

Wake up!

In all my reading of Revelations I never saw any clue that the 2nd Coming would be announced by Louis Farrakhan. Angels and trumpets, yes. Braying jackass blowing his own horn, no.

Of all the endorsements that should send a shiver down the spine of a thinking human being this one should be measured on the Kelvin scale.

If, after seeing this, you are still inclined to vote for Obama I strongly suggest that you seek medical attention.

Coming down to the wire

It is coming down to the wire. My opinion on tonight's debate is that McCain did better than hold his own and people got to see the long-winded, empty suit being long-winded.

But I fear that it won't be enough.

Our media is not honest or the empty suit wouldn't have made it past the primaries.

However the real story isn't the election. It's how the election will be stolen.

ACORN office in Vegas raided in voter-fraud probe

LAS VEGAS - Nevada authorities seized records Tuesday from a group they accused of submitting fraudulent voter-registration forms — including for the starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys.

"Tony Romo is not registered to vote in the state of Nevada, and anybody trying to pose as Terrell Owens won't be able to cast a ballot on Nov. 4," said Secretary of State Ross Miller, referring to star players on the pro football team.

What you are looking at is the pay off for being a "community organizer" and for all the handouts that ACORN has gotten from Obama. Not content with the dead voting in Illinois we now have the star quarterback for the Las Vegas Cowboys signed up, registered as...

A Democrat.

According to its national Web site, the group has registered 1.3 million people nationwide for the Nov. 4 election. It has encountered complaints of fraud stemming from registration efforts in Wisconsin, North Carolina, New Mexico, Michigan, Ohio and Missouri.

1.3 Million "new" voters in battleground states that could go either way. ALL created by ACORN which owes Obama big time and which looks to reap major rewards if they come through.

I think it's time to start talking about what we do when the election is stolen.

UPDATE!

Missouri
officials suspect fake voter registration

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Officials in Missouri, a hard-fought jewel in the
presidential race, are sifting through possibly hundreds of questionable or
duplicate voter-registration forms submitted by an advocacy group that has been
accused of election fraud in other states.

Folks, this is the tip of a very big, stinking Obamaberg. ACORN is Obama's pet. No matter what they are going to deliver the votes of such important citizens as Donald Duck, Ronald McDonald and Benjamin Franklin for Obamessiah.

This election has already been stolen. You can quote me on that.

We also know who stole it.

Yeah. I know. To accuse a black guy of stealing something is racist.

Might as well add to the list of trumped up charges when they come to take me to the Citzen Re-education Center.

Must See Movie

Yes. I know. Why should anyone have to pay to be insulted by liberals?

Well, this movie doesn't condemn America, freedom or firearms. It condemns terrorism, Michael Moore and the ACLU.

Got you interested?

An American Carol is the funniest movie I've seen in some time. I believe it's the funniest movie David Zucker has made in some time.

Will it convert a liberal? No. Movies don't work miracles. Will it make you laugh? Very likely.

Disclaimer: No actual ACLU zombies were harmed during the making of this movie. Any resemblance between liberals skewered in this movie and actual liberals is purely intended, get over it you whining turd. I hope Oliver Stone's next job is to wash David Zucker's car and if he keeps making movies like he's been doing it very likely will be.

Important Read!

David Hardy is no stranger to those who have been reading about 2nd Amendment issues.

Today he has a very important story about Obama's one claim to executive office, the one time he doesn't want to bring up.

That McCain didn't bring up this information before I rather telling. You would think at least ONE of his staff would have looked into this.

Obama and the Attempt to Destroy the Second Amendment

As a presidential candidate, Barack Obama must demonstrate executive experience, but he remains strangely silent about his eight years (1994-2002) as a director of the [1] Joyce Foundation, a billion dollar tax-exempt organization. He has one obvious reason: during his time as director, [2] Joyce Foundation spent millions creating and supporting anti-gun organizations.

There is another, less known, reason.

During Obama’s tenure, the Joyce Foundation board planned and implemented a program targeting the Supreme Court. The work began five years into Obama’s directorship, when the Foundation had experience in turning its millions into anti-gun “grassroots” organizations, but none at converting cash into legal scholarship.

The plan’s objective was bold: the judicial obliteration of the Second Amendment.

Go to the link and read the rest.

Remember

It is important to remember this picture.

This person is a typical Obama voter. There is NO WAY she will vote for McCain and Palin. She's going to cast her vote for Obama. Probably absentee, but most definitely her vote will be case for Obama.

Friends don't let friends vote for Obama.

You don't want YOUR friends to wind up like this!

The New York Times does something right?

I know. Impossible to believe.

I think this falls under the "stopped clock" rule, though. I'm sure they won't do it again anytime soon.

Even if the NYT did stand up, in a way, for the truth the AP is quick to bow to their Saudi Masters.

Newspapers get complaints for DVD ad on Muslims

You can see by the title of the article that the AP is conflating a video that clearly condemns very, very nasty preaching by certain jihadist groups and teachers with "Muslims". This is the same tactic used to blur the lines between illegal aliens invading the U.S. and legal immigrants.

Since the AP gets around 50% of its annual revenue by producing news for consumption by Arabic speakers (news that is usually anti-US, anti-Israel and anti-Christian) you can see that they have an economic motive for trying to kiss greasy Saudi butt.

Newspapers that carried an advertising supplement in recent weeks containing a DVD critical of radical Muslims have faced complaints from readers and questions about whether newspapers should offer a platform to everyone willing to pay for distribution.
Although a few papers refused to carry the DVD, about 70 including The New York Times distributed it on the grounds that rejecting it would violate the sponsor's right to free speech. The decision generated letters, cancellations and even a protest.

The Clarion Fund, a nonprofit founded in 2006 to address "the most urgent threat of radical Islam," spent millions of dollars distributing the DVDs mostly in battleground election states. That targeting led to further outcry about the group's motives.

Mostly because anytime someone tries to raise awareness of the jihadist threat they are clearly anti-Obama, don't you know? And they are icky, knuckle-dragging, gun and god clinging bitter racists). The fact that we are under threat EVERY year is to be forgotten if it may be used against a man who wants to have lunch with Hezbollah and coffee with Hamas.

"I cannot believe that I was sent the hate-inflaming, fear-mongering video disk `Obsession' in my newspaper!" Margaret Lewis of Durham, N.C., wrote to The News & Observer. "What will you enclose next? KKK robes?"

It's good to see that Mohammed L. adopted the Palestinian habit of cyber-dressing like a woman and remember to make it an American sounding name when writing the paper. The peole who watch this movie (I have it on DVD) can clearly see that the hatred is on the side of those who hate America. This is not KKK hatred. This is centuries old and not going to quietly melt into history.

Dozens of people protested outside The Oregonian's offices on Monday, the morning after the Portland, Ore., newspaper carried the DVD. One said he canceled his subscription. Mayor Tom Potter had tried to persuade the paper not to run the ad.
"Dozens"? When it's protestors against something that the AP doesn't like that means 6 or 7 people. If this were a protest by persons supporting right to life or the RKBA and it was 300-400 then it would be called "dozens" by the AP.

Also let's look at this Tom Potter. Why would he even be involved in advertising being put into the local newspaper? It's not a city function. It's private enterprise and as such is protected from his office.

He marched against the Iraq War on the first anniversary of American involvement in March 2004
Oh, he's THAT kind of mayor! Now we know why he wants to stop people from learning about jihadists! He hates America.

On April 22, 2005, Potter withdrew the Portland Police Bureau from the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. This action came after a dispute of two years over supervision, security clearances for Potter and then-Chief of Police Derrick Foxworth.
Yes, THAT kind of mayor. Let's not have the police of a major metropolitan American city cooperate with the FBI anti-terrorism task force. That might step on some people's toes. Sandy toes. Like I said. He's the kind of mayor that hates America.

In October 2006 Potter introduced a resolution affirming the City’s commitment to the inclusion of immigrants and refugees in civic life, and convened the city’s first-ever Immigrant and Refugee Task Force to recommend strategies to address barriers to engagement.

Cough, cough. Santuary. Cough.

Gee, the opponents of this movie really do have a lot in common.

It was pure profit motive for the NYT to run with this. They don't give a rat's butthole for true freedom and never did. But with subcriptions down, ad revenue down and layoffs before them, layoffs behind them they are looking at having to turn out the lights on their brand new building and go home.

In other words, they sold out.

Oh well, so long as the did the right thing, for once.

A Shot In The Arm

On some gun forums it seems like if someone shoots a part of their own body they are probably packing a badge. Of course there are those times when the firing isn't accidental.

But sometimes that is just stupid.

Man shoots himself in arm after being denied sex

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Authorities say a Fort Myers man shot himself in the arm after his girlfriend refused to have sex with him. The Lee County Sheriff's Office reported that a 29-year-old man and his girlfriend returned home from a bar early Wednesday morning.

The girlfriend told deputies that her boyfriend wanted to get intimate, but she just wanted to go to sleep. When she refused, he became irate.

Authorities said the girlfriend went to a spare bedroom, and several minutes later she heard two gunshots. She told deputies her boyfriend came into her room and threatened her. He then stumbled into the kitchen before falling into the oven, knocking himself unconscious.

Now, if this guy had a badge he would probably get time off with pay, a union lawyer to represent him in court and be returned to duty with his gun still on his hip.

Wonder How To

Someone finally made YouTube into something marginally useful. By assembling video "How To"s this site can provide you with something more useful than moronic Obama supporters indulging in pseudo-intellectual mental masturbation.

What's more they even have a section for weapon and firearm "How To"s.

Take a look!

O! say can you see...

There is a problem afoot in the land that the media is keeping a lid on. It doesn't featured kidnapped girls so that's part of the reason. The other part is that it shows the anti-war movement at it's true level.

Flag burnings.

I'm not talking about freedom of expression. I'm talking about the denial of Constitutional rights to freedom of expression that is being engaged in. It's not being done by Bush or Cheney or anyone on the right. It's the anti-war movement.

Flags belonging to men and women on display outside their own homes are being set on fire. It's not confined to one geographic location.

I say this is repression of freedom of expression because the arsonists doing the burning are denying the rights of the flag owners to make their expression known.

No judge who isn't sucking around for a poke in the snoot is going to get behind anyone claiming that they have a freedom to set fire to another person's property. That's not freedom of expression and is the working definition of arson.

Cops, however, fail to treat these arsons properly. They treat them as vandalism, as does the press. How long before one of these "pranks" burns a family or even a neighborhood down?

Someone wants to buy their own flag and burn it on their own property after they observe all local fire ordinances, burn bans, smoking ordinances, and do an EPA study to ensure that their freedom of expression doesn't compromise the economy or cause Global Warming is welcome to. IF they do all of the above. Leave out one and they should be hit with the full force of law for the crime they commit. If a business can't have an open air incinerator neither should some "performance artist".

Now let's get back to what is actually happening. These citizens who are flying their flags are flying US flags, not the flags of other nations and especially not the flag of Mexico. The people doing the torching are the usual assortment of cowards which is why they are in the anti-war movement to start with. If they had the courage of their convictions they would call a press conference, do their act and then go to jail to take their medicine. Instead it's torch and run.

Total cowards.

Civil disobedience means you take your medicine, be it one hour in a holding cell or 20 years. Torching another person's property, no matter how you feel about what it symbolizes, is a cowardly act of arson.

Another "Glock Fowty" Incident

Once more a cop shows off how he's the ONLY ONE capable of handling firearms.

Even so, I really want to shove my foot up the ass of the Accredited Journalist who thinks that "Glock 40" is a model number.

Students claim police chief who shot himself was careless

RIVERDALE, Utah - The police chief who shot himself in the ankle was waving a loaded pistol and being careless, according to two students who were attending his class to qualify for a concealed-weapons permit. "We were told the gun is the chief's personal sidearm, but it looked to me like he didn't know anything about the gun," Lewis Walker said.

Bart Ulm, another student seeking certification to carry a concealed weapon, said he was surprised Chief Dave Hansen was using a loaded gun to show how it worked.

"Right then, I was very leery, because there's no need to have live ammo in a gun in the class. But I figured he's the chief, so he must know what he's doing," Ulm told the Standard-Examiner of Ogden.

Hansen held the Glock 40 under a table to disassemble it when a bullet fired, Walker said.

The chief cried, "I'm hit," and fell over. Students who were screaming "Officer down!" were urged to call 911.

The gun went off in a conference room Saturday at Riverdale police headquarters.

Hansen was taken to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden for surgery and released Monday, Lt. James Ebert said.

Ebert said the findings of an internal investigation would be announced Wednesday. He declined to offer specifics but disputed the accounts of Ulm and Walker, describing the pair as "disgruntled."

Other students "did not share that feeling" about the chief, Ebert told The Associated Press.

Walker said he didn't have confidence in the investigation.

"I think Riverdale police are just trying to keep this quiet and act like the chief is a hero. But if you ask me, he's really stupid," Walker said. "His state certification to teach concealed-weapons classes should be taken away from him. This was totally gross negligence."

Ulm said there was a moment of levity during the emergency.

He said an officer at the scene joked that "instead of shooting himself, he should have used the Taser."

THIS is Islam

Islamic schools lure African boys into begging

Catholics invent things. Protestant invent things. Jews invent things. Athiests, Bhuddists and pagans invent things.

Muslims send out beggars and live on the proceeds.

There are 1.2 million Colis in the world today, children trafficked to work for the benefit of others. Those who lure them into servitude make $15 billion annually, according to the International Labor Organization.

It's big business in Senegal. In the capital of Dakar alone, at least 7,600 child beggars work the streets, according to a study released in February by the ILO, the United Nations Children's Fund and the World Bank. The children collect an average of 300 African francs a day, just 72 cents, reaping their keepers $2 million a year.

Most of the boys — 90 percent, the study found — are sent out to beg under the cover of Islam, placing the problem at the complicated intersection of greed and tradition. For among the cruelest facts of Coli's life is that he was not stolen from his family. He was brought to Dakar with their blessing to learn Islam's holy book.

This is what Muhammed wrought. This is Allah the Almighty at work.

Want to know why Islam is a religion that should be wiped out?

Read 'em and weep.

It was getting dark. Coli had less than half the 72 cents he was told to bring back. He was afraid. He knew what happened to children who failed to meet their daily quotas.

They were stripped and doused in cold water. The older boys picked them up like hammocks by their ankles and wrists. Then the teacher whipped them with an electrical cord until the cord ate their skin.

Coli's head hurt with hunger. He could already feel the slice of the wire on his back.

He slipped away, losing himself in a tide of honking cars. He had 20 cents in his tomato can.

It could be worse. He could be raped by an Imam. Oh, wait, that's in the next article.

One Half The Equation

The other half is trying to take more guns away from law-abiding citizens.

States may free inmates to save millions

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Lawmakers from California to Kentucky are trying to save money with a drastic and potentially dangerous budget-cutting proposal: releasing tens of thousands of convicts from prison, including drug addicts, thieves and even violent criminals.

Officials acknowledge that the idea carries risks, but they say they have no choice because of huge budget gaps brought on by the slumping economy.

"If we don't find a way to better manage the population at the state prison, we will be forced to spend money to expand the state's prison system — money we don't have," said Jeff Neal, a spokesman for Rhode Island Gov. Don Carcieri.

At least eight states are considering freeing inmates or sending some convicts to rehabilitation programs instead of prison, according to an Associated Press analysis of legislative proposals. If adopted, the early release programs could save an estimated $450 million in California and Kentucky alone.

What's not being said is how many of the prisoners in those eight states are in this nation illegally. Not one of those states is sending a bill to the nation of Mexico demanding payment for feeding, clothing and housing their citizens.

Even if none of the criminals being let out early is incarcerated for a violent crime they are only in prison for crimes they were convicted of. Not necessarily all of the crimes they COMMITTED. A guy who breaks into your grandmother's house, rapes her, beats her into a coma and steals her purse may only be in prison for stealing her purse as part of a plea bargain.

Laying off prison guards and making it more difficult to send parole violators back to state prison would account for part of the savings.
So, on top of letting the bad boys out early we are going to make it more difficult to put the baddest boys back inside when they misbehave. That will REALLY send a message to criminals, won't it? "Yeah, he is still dealing drugs but in ten or twenty more arrests we may actually be able to put him in jail for it."

By intentionally raising the number of criminals at large in the nation state governments are ensuring more death, more hardship, more suffering. That some of the states considering this are also guilty of disarming citizens is proof that states are at war with the law-abiding citizens.

The Gift of Easter

No, not yet another interpretation of two chocolate bunnies. Cute the first 17 times you see it. Now irritating. By next week it will be considered a viable candidate for the Democratic party nomination.

Speaking of Democrat candidates what has been going on at Trinity United Church of Christ now that Jeremiah Wright has been forcibly retired?

Why, it looks like those merry folks have just turned over an entirely new leaf! They aren't being divisive ANY MORE!

The whole hoopla was all the work of ONE BAD APPLE, crazy old "Uncle" Jeremiah.

Or was it.....

"The new pastor of Barack Obama’s church delivered a defiant defense of its retiring reverend Sunday, comparing media coverage of Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. to a modern-day lynching that resembles Jesus’ death at the hands of the Romans."

Yeah. Jesus didn't have to die or anything. Just go into retirement. Oh and instead of crucifixion he was "lynched".

Why must these jerks not admit to the totally obvious? Wright got a small portion of what happened to Don Imus even though one of them is clearly an entertainer and the other a veteran religious leader.

“The lynching was national news. The RNN, the Roman News Network, was reporting it and NPR, National Publican Radio had it on the radio. The Jerusalem Post and the Palestine Times all wanted exclusives, they searched out the young ministers, showed up unannounced at their houses, tried to talk with their families, called up their friends, wanted to get a quote on how do you feel about the lynching?” he continued.

ROMAN News Network? Looks like someone is carrying their analogy a bit too far.

Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie, the first female bishop in the AME Church, also delivered a sermon, in which she talked about visionaries like King and Gandhi and “Jeremiah” (it was unclear whether she meant Wright), and argued that their words weren’t about “anger,” but about “a passion that demands confrontation.”

Unclear? Was she supposed to be referring to the prophet from Judaism that she and her associates call a "gutter religion"?

“Dr. Wright represents the best among us … An attack on this man of God is an attack on all those of the cloth who believe in the social Gospel of liberation. And I will not stand for it,” he (Rev. Samuel B. McKinney of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Seattle) wrote.

So here we have more folks who believe that on 9/11/01 that 3000 people died as a result of "chickens coming home to roost"?

Moss issued several pleas to congregants to donate to what he called the “Resurrection Fund,” stressing that during this time of battle, money is needed to defend the church. He offered no additional specifics about the fund, telling churchgoers he didn’t want to get into it because Trinity is streaming the service live on the Web and the services are available for purchase on DVD.

In other words, let's not get caught doing something even more embarrassing. Now that we have learned that Whitey can watch YouTube.

A moment of pride

Tonight I saw a beautiful thing. I saw the qualification target of a co-worker who didn't own a gun, still doesn't but wants to own one soon and has taken and passed her CHL course.

I've turned a non-gunny into a CHLer.

I can not claim a direct hand in teaching her to shoot, that was left to a distinguished member of the TSRA who is truly qualified. My own journey to become one of the "permitted" to carry was the seed that is now bearing fruit.

Think of the politics this will influence. Just one person, but one person on OUR side, not theirs.

Think of the effect on crime. Men who decide that they should move to one of the gun-hater states to do their crimes.

Give a person a fish they can eat for a day. Teach them to operate a gun and they won't have to kneel to any king.

An empty belly is easy to cure. A free citizen is not as easily created but I played a part in making one.

I'm very happy.

Which Handgun Are You?

Hat tip to Texas Gun Nut for this one.

I am a: Glock Model 22 in 40 cal
Firearms Training
What kind of handgun are YOU?

How prescient of them. That's what was on my hip as I took their test.

Now you know why I have a problem finding a BAG day gun. I probably own what I would want.

The Para Ord Slim Hawg is whispering but it's a short barreled .45. They don't spit out at the proper velocity for a lot of ammo to properly expand.

I would also have to add in some new moves to my presentation practice to deactivate the safety on the draw.

I've also fired one of the short .45s and was not overly enthused about my performance. Like a snubby .38 they require devotion to the basics to really make them effective past bad breath distances. That's one reason why it's on offer at the pawn shop, I'll wager.

I'm leaning more towards a Commander sized .45 if I pick one up. Or a G 30 SF. Nothing new to learn there. But why? I have a G 27. More concealable and those bullets scoot faster out of a Polygonal barrel. I could buy it a G 23 barrel and really make them scoot.

Or keep finding ways to stick this G 22 into concealment.

Oh well. I'm in negotiations to swap a couple of lesser guns for an AK variation. A BAG day without actually spending cash may be in order.

BAG day approacheth

BAG day is little over 30 days away and I don't even know what I want.

Yes, a handgun is great. Ruger SR9? It's a 9 mm. Ruger LCP? I'm already packing a Glock 27, why would I downgrade?

Glock 30 SF? Again, it's no smaller than the Glock 27 I already pack on my work days. And it's not much smaller than the PT 145 I own. If I want a short barreled .45 I have one.

Rifle? Yes, I want a .308 (AKA 7.62 x 51 mm) rifle. I've been thinking of an Ishapore Enfield and that is still in the running. I've seen some sweet other rifles, too but outside of my current price range.

AK? Yes, I want one more than I want a poodle shooter. In the running, too.

Shotgun? I have one. Do I need more than one? Not yet.

A .22 rifle? I don't shoot the ones I own enough to justify another one.

A Glock .22 conversion? Doesn't qualify for BAG day unless I get a receiver with it.

A J-frame or Ruger snubby? In the running.

I can feel it comin' on the air tonight

"I was there and I saw what you did. Saw it with my own two eyes. So you can wipe off that grin, I know where you've been. It's all been a pack of lies."

Aside from being one of the most quoted Genesis tunes that line perfectly characterizes Recreate 68.

Tonight is the meeting they are holding at the Gypsy House Cafe. I'm glad I'm in Texas.

Now that Clinton and Obama are both locked into wrestling with each other until the convention we are now forced to watch as the DNC tries to decide on pigment or lack of penis as a justification to run for President.

That's what it comes down to. The person with the most melanin or the person lacking a penis.

Recreate 68 is aimed at staging protests in Denver and again I am OVERJOYED at no longer living in the city of the Brown Cloud.

R-68 agrees with the proposition, POTESTAS IN POPULO, "all power comes from the people."
They forget Mao's one true maxim. Political Power grows from the barrel of a gun. No guns no political power.

Mayor John Hickenlooper may be a half-baked worthless and useless figurehead but the professional bureaucrats who really run Denver know this maxim by heart.

Their people will be the same ones who stomped up and down the streets of Denver on Jan 1, 2000. You WILL be beaten. You WILL be gassed. You WILL be charged with crimes you may not have committed. You WILL regret coming to Denver.

I'd ask you to check out real estate while you are there but none of the member of R-68 could afford to buy me lunch, let alone a house. They are all still living at home in their parent's basement.

Philadelphia, The City of Brotherly Irony

ELEVEN students from Julia R. Masterman Laboratory and Demonstration School were filming an antiviolence video when they were attacked after school Monday by other youths, school district officials said yesterday.
"Hey, I have an idea! Let's get rid of violence by making a video! THAT's what has been missing in this city!"

In a city where certain elements have been encouraged to avoid learning the lessons of the jungle this irony hits the sidewalk faster than pigeon poop falling from the statue of Willie Penn.

"We normally don't have trouble at [Masterman]," said Police Capt. Dennis Wilson. "A group that was looking for trouble ran into them and wanted to fight."
Gee, Captain. What did you think would be the result of revolving door courts that keep dumping troublemakers back into the community would be?

At one time in this nation we locked up kids who beat up other kids. The result was that our kids got an education. Now we don't lock up kids who beat up other kids and our kids are not getting educated. I wonder how we should fix this?

Make a video about it?

Ironically, school officials said, the students from Masterman, 17th and Spring Garden streets, were filming a video about rampant violence in Philadelphia. The video included a skit in which one student shoots another because the shooter mistakenly believes that the other stole his sneakers.

The 11 Masterman students, members of the school's African-American Cultural Committee, were in front of the Community College of Philadelphia, across the street at 17th and Spring Garden, about 4:30 when a larger group from nearby schools approached, Assistant Principal Mary Ann Tancredi said.

The Masterman students reported that their assailants had been looking for someone specific, asking, " 'Is that him? Is that him?' " according to schools spokesman Fernando Gallard.

Although the youths did not find their apparent target, Gallard said, they began attacking several Masterman students, some of whom ran back into the school to escape.

And how many of these "youths" will be jailed?

Arrested were Malique Sherril, 18, a Benjamin Franklin High School student, and two 13-year-old boys who attend Laura Wheeling Waring School. Police said all three would be charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and related charges. All three will be suspended.
SUSPENDED! Oh, the HORROR! Kids who are probably disruptive to class and apparently only go to school in order to cause trouble are going to be SUSPENDED!

How about slapping all of them into a jail until such time that they are ready for prison? What were their prior records? Why do I have a feeling that they could probably find their baby daddy in there?

Malcolm Carrington, 13, of West Oak Lane, said he and his classmates had been taunted by students from other schools while walking to and from the nearby Broad Street Subway.

"They think we're not streetwise," he said. "Sometimes I worry about becoming a victim. That's why we walk in groups."

Great job, Philly mayor and cops. You can burn down a city block to get at a few loud-mouths and eventually will stop a serial killer when the stench of rotting flesh coming from his house gets to be too much for his neighbors but when you are watching the next generation of trouble makers at work you just turn away. Let the few good kids who are at least TRYING to learn (despite being handicapped by liberal falsehoods) are being harassed. And the Philly mayor will sit there with his thumb up his butt and let crime get worse.

A Very Important Read

I don't claim to have fully given this post the full attention it deserves. I've skimmed it but need to take a more careful read of it and apply critical thinking to it.

Yes, I do that even to articles that tell me what I want to hear. It's actually more important for those articles than for ones I disregard.

It's at War On Guns and is worth the time and effort.

Touchy-Feely

I am not a huge "touchy-feely" guy. I do a lot of touchy-feely with my wife but outside of that I'm not a big fan of casual intimacy. I don't believe in hugging everyone.

I have a MAJOR problem with casual kissing.

Now, we see Jesse Jackson "greeting" Chelsea Clinton.

He looks like he's giving his least favorite maiden auntie a peck on the cheek. She looks like she's bracing for a smooch from a too amorous uncle. Maybe her dad has a brother?

Why are you two adults putting on this show when you are both so obviously uncomfortable?

To show that you are both able to kiss someone with cooties?

Is it a sin to say "I really don't go around kissing people outside of my marriage"?

Is it a sin to decline kisses from people you aren't married to?

Yes, I know Chelsea is not married but Jackson is. I'm reasonably certain he is not married to Chelsea Clinton. Why is a married man kissing an unmarried woman?

Haven't they heard of handshakes?

Packin'

Okay, if you are stalking me then you already know I am packing.

Not boxes. Not at this moment, anyway.

My CHL, referred to in the write up of my class, came through.

I haven't completed even 30 days of carrying on a daily basis and already not being armed feels "wrong".

I have 4 situations when I don't have a gun immediately upon my body. One of them is in the shower.

I wouldn't count on being able to tell when I'm in the shower if you really are stalking me.

Over a year ago I decided what I WOULD carry when I was licensed. I have kept to that decision, choosing to train with the Glock firearm system. I own other firearms but what I have on me is normally a Glock. What I have near me is normally a Glock.

What I carry is normally a Glock.

If you haven't stalked me I won't make it easy to figure out the carry methods. I keep experimenting with them, anyway. What is true last week may be different next week.

I even carry at home. I'm not one to lock up my gun just because I'm in my house. Since I read that most armed citizen encounters occur in the walls of one's own home I have committed to making sure I'm armed there.

Yes, I could have been doing that all along without the plastic. If had read that tidbit before now I probably would have carried at home before now.

I follow the letter and spirit of the laws that I am licensed under. I will, however, continue to lobby to increase the legal recognition of my real rights.

Gun Grabbin' Ray Horsing around with an M4

What's wrong with this image?

The thing most wrong with it is that Ray Nagin can play with hardware YOU can't buy.

That's right. Mr. Contempt of Court is able to play with toys YOU can't buy since only cops can have full autos and select fires made/imported after 1986.

You couldn't legally buy that toy he's holding from your gun dealer, however if you were a criminal it probably would only run a couple of thousand dollars, if that much. I don't know for a fact since I don't hang out with criminals but you can bet your bippy that they won't spend money for guns when there is bling to buy.

Now for the real question. Why aren't the New Orleans and Louisiana press crucifying Gun Grabbin' Ray for stealing property from law-abiding citizens? For the man to get close to pointing his finger and saying "bang" the press should be scalding him like a chicken for plucking.

Or maybe the press in Louisiana likes the mayor for stealing property from tax-paying, law-abiding citizens?

Is THAT why they will act like Ray Nagin is some sort of priceless art piece?

Which is worse? The lying scum-sucking bottom feeder living on the government payroll after stealing from honest citizens or the press that won't stand up for the people?

Nagin has that laughing jackass holding the other M4 to go out with that assault poodle shooter and take tax money away from honest citizens. The press seems to think they can TELL people what to think and not suffer for it.

Yet they still wonder why there is a decline in circulation?

Their investors should be asking about that little problem.

The Brits March Into Oblivion, again

England's commissioner for children and a civil liberties group joined in on a campaign Tuesday to ban high-frequency devices intended to drive misbehaving children away from shops and other areas.

The so-called "Mosquito" device emits high-frequency noise which is audible — and annoying — to young ears, but generally not heard by people over 20.

"This device is a quick fix that does not tackle the root cause of the problem and it is indiscriminate," English Children's Commissioner Al Aynsley-Green said.

You are right, Al. It does not tackle the root cause of the problem.

The root cause of the problem is you stopped spanking kids and you stopped locking up kids who were into stealing, breaking things and being a pain in the ass. You even stopped making those trouble makers go into the military.

So, with undisciplined, spoiled kids being handed welfare from the cradle and unemployment as soon as they can stumble out of school you wind up with generations of white trash.

You really should have left that up to your cousins on this side of the pond. We can create white trash who turn into millionaires. You just turn your millionaires into white trash.

Aynsley-Green said in an interview with British Broadcasting Corp. radio that the devices do not tackle the real problem, which is that children have no place to gather other than on the streets.

"I think it is a powerful symptom of what I call the malaise at the heart of our society," he said.

"I'm very concerned about what I see to be an emerging gap between the young and the old, the fears, the intolerance, even the hatred, of the older generation toward the young."

It is the JOB of the older generation to be intolerant of the young. If the young had any sense they wouldn't tolerate themselves.

There is no amount of shoving safety pins though your lip or chartreuse dyed Mohawks that will make up for getting an education and working your ass off every day.

I realize that my name doesn't have a hyphen in it but I would have sworn that morons like Al could grasp these subtleties.

Shami Chakrabarti, director of the civil rights group Liberty, supported the campaign.

"Imagine the outcry if a device was introduced that caused blanket discomfort to people of one race or gender, rather than to our kids," Chakrabarti said. "The 'Mosquito' has no place in a country that values its children and seeks to instill them with dignity and respect."

Dignity? Respect?

Respect is EARNED. It's not a handout from the nanny state! Dignity is when you fall on your face in a pile of dung and get up and brush yourself off and keep doing your job. Any of the punks in this story doing that? Or are they whining about how they aren't able to shoplift enough for a new iPod?

Well, Shami? Which is it?

"People talk about infringing human rights but what about the human rights of the shopkeeper who is seeing his business collapse because groups of unruly teenagers are driving away his customers?"
What about their rights, indeed.

Another Must Read

For me to refer folks to HWT is somewhat silly but if I steer just one person who hasn't found the place by way of my sidebar or some other path then I have done something good.

This post on the topic of gun control is well reasoned.

If you keep digging down to the root of their dislike of firearms you will generally find that what is really motivating them is a hatred not of the firearm itself, which is an inanimate object after all, but rather a deep hatred of the kind of person who chooses to own and carry a firearm for self protection.

The person who chooses to carry a firearm is above all stating that he or she is willing to take responsibility for their own life and safety. This is why gun control is a fixture of the political left because the idea of individuals taking responsibility for themselves is anathema to the left. The left's ideal of the perfect world is a population mired in helpless dependency upon the state (which will be ruled by the enlightened masters of the Left) for every necessity of life from protection from crime to their housing and health care to their next meal.
Go and read the rest and be enlightened.

Old school.

And now for something completely different

Women turn on ‘traitor’ Oprah Winfrey for backing Barack Obama

Hey, it's not my headline. It's from the TimesOnline in the UK.

You know you are in trouble when your own media won't tell you the truth about the behind the scenes of the Democrat hack & slash. If the Brits can smell blood in the water it's got to be knee deep at DNC headquarters.

AMERICA’S favourite television presenter is paying a painful price for her intervention in the US presidential campaign last month. Oprah Winfrey has been dubbed a “traitor” by some of her female fans for supporting Barack Obama instead of Hillary Clinton.

Winfrey’s website, Oprah.com, has been flooded with a barrage of abuse since the queen of daytime chat shows joined Obama on a tour of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina in mid-December.

Her intervention was widely credited with broadening Obama’s national appeal - especially among women - and with helping him to an upset victory over Clinton in the first vote of the election year in Iowa.

So there we have it. Women are turning on their over-paid piper. When she broke ranks to support a pseudo-black man based SOLELY upon the color of his skin over siding with a (biological) woman based SOLELY upon her gender the legions of Hillary's Harridans decided to swarm in defense of their Queen Bee.

They are making the PaulBots look like champions of reasoned discourse.

What's a media mogul to do? Her empire seems ready to desert!

Why, she can duck & cover and wait to emerge in whichever camp manages to float to the top of this toilet bowl.

Yet a backlash by Clinton supporters appears to have prompted a rethink by Winfrey, the African-American media titan who is routinely described as the most influential woman on television.

She did not reappear in the final days before the New Hampshire primary - which Obama lost to Clinton - and has been absent from the most recent campaigning in South Carolina, which votes next weekend.

Obama aides believe that Winfrey will return to the campaign. Her own staff noted last week that in addition to her daily broadcasts on television and satellite radio, she has also been busy negotiating a multi-million-dollar deal with the Discovery cable network to create her own television channel, the Oprah Winfrey Network.

Yet Obama’s rivals suspect that Winfrey has been startled by the virulent reaction to her previous campaign appearance.

It started with a message on her website entitled “Oprah is a traitor” and rapidly expanded to include several discussions that attracted hundreds of comments.

Well, gosh, Oprah, what did you expect?

Did you really think your advertisers were buying access to a BLACK audience? THINK AGAIN, BABY!

They wanted the purses of those white women who felt guilty enough to follow your commands slavishly. And I do mean slavishly.

Then you went and told them that they had to abandon Billy Jeff's wife to follow Dumbobama of the Big Ears and No Plan. Suddenly there's a revolt in the cabins surrounding the big house at the Winfrey plantation.

Your fellow's young. He will still have jug handles big enough to make Tony Blair look cute in 2012 or 2016. 2008 is really the Shrillary Shrew's last hurrah. By 2012 she's going to be less appealing than the Dr. Ruth Blow Up Sex Therapist.

Now it may be unfair of those women. After all, Hillary is biologically a woman and women are the truest majority in our nation. They have both the highest numbers and the highest number of eligible voters. She should be able to walk up and take the office. If only all those women would agree that Hill-D-Beast is actually someone they can trust.

Obama does represent a minority. White guys with black fathers. I don't know why Oprah would be attracted to him. I thought she went in for black guys, but hey, whatever floats her boat. Maybe if Dumbobama doesn't work out she could see what Whoopi saw in Tedd Danson.

Back again? So soon?

One of the luxuries of an infrequent blogger is going weeks without blogging a single word.

It seems, though, that I've picked up one something that might turn into a full-time blogging event.

Where in the World is the BATF?

Yes, here we are for another installment in CZ the Day's look at those boys and girls in jackboots. Or, we WOULD be looking at them, if they were doing something about crime. Instead they are usually found trying to shut down a law-abiding license holder over abbreviating "street" as "st." as 99.99999914% of the nation does, including EVERY government agency.

This time around there's more gangbangers and guns. The irony is that one of those gangbangers was also the founder of ... you are gonna LOVE this!...

AN ANTI-GUN GROUP!

As Fits says, you can't make this stuff up! And if you did they networks would never use it as plot lines for TV cop shows. Not because it's unbelievable. They would avoid doing it because it would point out the utter stupidity, hypocrisy and general suck present in ALL the anti-gun movement.

Founder of Anti-Gun Group Pleads No Contest to Weapons Charges

Hector "Big Weasel" Marroquin, 51, and co-defendant Sylvia Arrellano, 25, entered pleas Thursday for three counts of manufacture, distribution and transport for sale of an unlawful assault weapon.

Arrellano also pleaded no contest to machine gun conversion and possessing a silencer and acknowledged that the crime was committed for the benefit of a criminal street gang.

She was given until Tuesday to surrender for sentencing and would likely be sentenced to four years in prison, prosecutors said.

Hold the PHONE, Mabel! 'Likely be sentenced to four years'? For manufacture, DISTRIBUTION and transport of an unlawful assault weapon? Not just owning, mind you. DISTRIBUTION, as in SELLING or PASSING ON TO OTHER GANG MEMBERS.

Y'all recall a guy who the Feds decided to charge for the mere POSSESSION of a fully automatic weapon that he basically built himself? He never passed it to anyone. His sentence was 6 1/2 years. His name is Wayne Fincher.

Now, can anyone tell me why this gangbanger bimbo is getting a lighter sentence? Especially since I'd put ten bucks on her having prior arrests and convictions for felonies?

So, what about her co-defendant. "Big Weasel"?

Marroquin founded No Guns in 1996, ostensibly to reduce gang and gun violence. The group received $1.5 million from the city as a subcontractor on anti-gang efforts but its contract was canceled last year after authorities learned that Marroquin had hired relatives, including his son, Hector "Little Weasel" Marroquin.

The son is an acknowledged 18th Street gang member who pleaded no contest in June 2007 to home-invasion robbery and was sentenced to nine years in state prison.

Yes, you read right, people. California tax payers gave "Big Weasel" 1.5 MILLION to go out and build fully automatic firearms and silencers.

Anyone want to open up a Cafe Pres store with t-shirts saying "My State Government Gave A Gangbanger 1.5 Million Dollars To Build Assault Weapons And All I Got Was This Lousy T-shirt!"

But let's not forget, this post ties back to our new blog segment.

Where in the World is the BATF?

While the BATF goes out and gets Wayne Fincher put in prison for 6.5 years why aren't they coming down with both jackboots on Big Weasel, Little Weasel and Sylvia Suxaweasel? Why aren't they getting extensive prison time for these folks for having a silencer without paying the tax? For possessing an unregistered fully automatic weapon AND transferring it without federal approval!

You do that and you'll be looking at 25 to life for "conspiracy". The Weasels are gonna be back to breaking into homes before they need to shave.

Where in the World is the BATF?

Why the unequal enforcement? What happened to "equal protection"? Why are the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of the BATFs assaults on liberty aimed at white people? Why is it that as soon as someone's name has a rolling R the BATF evaporates faster than ether on a hot manifold?

It's clearly discrimination. It's clearly racism. It's clearly unconstitutional on 3-7 amendments.

Introducing a new segment

There are criminals using guns. There are guns being used by criminals.

Those weapons are almost never purchased legally. Billy B. Badboy doesn't call up his local gun dealer and order his GangBanger2008 off the shelf.

For one thing criminals don't pay retail or sales tax. Why should they? It's cheaper to buy a gun grabbed by burglars swapped for crack or meth to a dealer.

What's very, very, very curious about this is that when these sorts of transactions occur the myriad of gun laws affecting interstate commerce, weapons transfer, barrel length or stock length is never used. You have to ask why the BATF is spending all of their time trying to bust law-abiding gun dealers making human errors. If they went after real criminals they might actually prevent a real crime or two. Someday.

For that reason I'm introducing a new segment to this blog.

Where in the World is the BATF?

Our inaugural entry comes to us through ABC news.

YouTube Taunt Results in Weapons Arrest

"Alleged Gang Members Arrested After Taunting Cops in Online Video"

Sounds good so far, doesn't it? These gangbangers make a video taunting cops. The BATF sees the video and sweeps in and makes arrests. Right?

Well...

"ICE agents made the arrests as part of their involvement in a Miami Dade gang task force. Both men are being held in Miami-Dade County jail."

ICE? ICE? What? None of those heroes who shot at little girls in Waco? None of those heroes who burned little girls to death in Waco from that other lettered agency. The one that lied to Congress. The FBI.

Both of these agencies who were so in love with using violence to keep Randy Weaver's child from living and the Branch Davidians from freedom of religion weren't involved in this case? How strange.

Now, I'll admit, that's not the only strange omission from the news coverage. Such as the reason why ICE was involved at all. Aren't they only involved in control of immigrants, usually those who shouldn't be here in the first place? ABC conveniently dodges any question of the legal status of one Rudy Villanueva or why this multiple time loser felon is still inside U.S. borders.

But more importantly for this new blog segment...

Where in the World is the BATF?

Why didn't those brave jackboots who spend so much of their time trying to shut down law-abiding firearms dealers rush right out to confront these two people who shouldn't have guns?

Why isn't the BATF looking for the intermediaries who supplied these gang bangers with weapons? Why aren't they filing conspiracy charges against THEM as they so often have against legitimate, law-abiding citizens who pay taxes?

Speaking of which why aren't drug dealers ever sentenced to additional time for not paying sales tax to the government? Someone handling several thousand dollars a day in merchandise should be owing their local city, county and state a BUTTLOAD of money every week.

"Hey, you did your ten years for trafficking in crack. Now you are gonna spend fifty years for tax evasion."

THAT would put a real crimp in the drug trade. Then you can get OSHA involved with filing against the holdings of pimps for the working conditions of their employees.

We have an entire panoply of federal agencies which can and do harass the law-abiding. Why is it when it comes to street crime these laws are never enforced? They would substantially add to the time being served among the criminals.

The thing I never want to hear is "There's nothing we can do" when referring to gangs.

Tell the truth. "There's nothing we WANT to do."

That's why the BATF wasn't there with ICE or there before them.

They don't WANT to take down real criminals. They ONLY want to harass the law-abiding. That is their only real reason to exist.

Who are you?

The question isn't for my readers. The question is for Obama.

Barak Obama was born to a white woman. He has lived a life of luxury that I will NEVER know. I'm white as his momma and I will NEVER know that level of luxury. I will NEVER know what is it is like to never work.

Barak Obama has known this. It is his REAL LIFE.

He doesn't need to work to live. NOT like you or me. NOT like any black person I have ever known. Native born or immigrant we should all be made to work. He NEVER lived that life.

Oprah is an IDIOT for not recognizing that OBAMA DOESN'T WORK. Not like her. Not like me. Not like anyone real.

Obama doesn't work to live. He lives to spend money he NEVER EARNED.

He's NOT REAL. He's a Trust Fund baby. He will live in comfort forever and ever. His children will live in comfort forever and ever. HE IS NOT REAL.

Admit it. He's not black. He is LESS real than Dan Quayle. There is NOTHING in Barack Obama that will ever make him real. Not in Chicago, not in America. He is WHITER than me. Forever. WHITER than Oprah. Forever. WHITER than Bob Dole. Forever.

THAT IS THE FACT.

ADMIT IT.

To vote for this man of NO PLAN is to vote based SOLELY upon skin color. ADMIT IT!

THERE IS ONLY ONE REASON TO VOTE OBAMA.

Guilt.

White guilt for white liberals. I'm immune. I've worked my whole life. No black who worked this hard has to worry about black or white in my field.

Black (successful) guilt. I'm immune. I have worked my whole life. No black who has worked this hard has to worry about black or white in my field.

OBAMA IS WHITE WHERE IT COUNTS. AT THE BANK.

Get it through your heads, America. Don't be fooled. He's JUST an empy suit with no plans. He's TRASH. He is WHITE TRASH and was never Black. He NEVER faced the struggle to transcend. he was ALWAYS privileged in ways even poor white never were.

Get over what he looks like. He's whiter than me.

He's trash.

Rich White Trash.

What more proof do we need?

There is a war on. It is between good and evil.

I'm not talking of metaphor. I'm talking of reality.

A headline today makes this war as evident as anyone could ask.

Saudi king pardons rape victim

I don't care what church you go to or avoid going to. Even a far left liberal should see the evil inherent in this action. A culture so evil that it requires a royal pardon for the VICTIM of the crime.

How many women have suffered without pardon for being the victims of rape in Islamic nations?

This isn't a matter of "different cultures". This is EVIL in action. There is no moral equivalence here. This is EVIL in action.

There is no way to compromise with this evil. There can only be destruction of that evil or of us who see it as evil.

There is no alternative to that choice.

Thanks, Mitt

Thank you, Mitt. You finally showed your true colors. YELLOW is the color I thought you wore and now you prove it.

GOV. ROMNEY: I supported the assault weapon ban...
I would have supported the original assault weapon ban. I signed an assault weapon ban in Massachusetts governor...

And if there is determined to be, from time to time, a weapon of such lethality that it poses a grave risk to our law enforcement personnel, that’s something I would consider signing.

We also should keep weapons of unusual lethality from being on the street.
Thanks for playing, Mitt. I smelled your cowardly stink as soon as I found out you were governor of Massacheusetts. You were NOT conservative and will NEVER be conservative. You are a Republican Lite. You are a RINO. You are NOT my candidate.

It's never been about being Mormon, Mitt. I don't care who you pray to. I care if you are faithful to the Constitution and YOU ARE NOT!

You are outta here!

Tired, but happy

I took the minimum required courses for a CCW in Colorado, then decided to move to Texas so I never applied for the paperwork.

Texas has much more stringent requirements, including an actual test that questions an applicant's knowledge of the law (after instruction) and shooting proficiency.

Readers of this blog will not be surprised that I aced the shooting portion. It was less demanding than the "qualifier" I shot in the spring. I hadn't fired a shot since the last time I shot IDPA and still managed to score 250 out of 250. I'm not Mr. Accuracy. I'm just Mr. Persistent. As Franklin observed, he believed in luck, but noted that the harder he worked the luckier he became.

Written test I didn't ace. I plead guilty. Yes, I had been awake more then 24 hours, had put in 12+ hours of work and fought to stay awake during the class. I still flubbed two out of fifty questions. I passed. I should have made this one be 100%, too.

It was NOT my instructor's fault. I admit that I didn't know what to expect from my Texas CHL instructor but Larry Arnold was as sincere, as dedicated to train and as effective as if I had sat in a class of 10. Perhaps more since I couldn't hide in back in a class of 1.

Texas is not just interested in making sure a CHL holder doesn't shoot his own foot. In this they surpass the Colorado requirements. They want to make sure you understand the responsibility of packing that gat. Larry Arnold wasn't running a scare show. He was trying his level best to prepare someone for assuming grave responsibility.

I hope to finish up the paper work and submit this week.

Now THIS is one way it should happen

A suspected purse snatcher didn't know what he was in for when he picked a woman in a Home Depot parking lot for a victim. As soon as he grabbed her purse, the woman's husband grabbed a shotgun and opened fire.

It happened at the Home Depot on the Eastex Freeway near Little York. With as much activity during business hours there, you never know who may be waiting in the wings, night or day, ready to strike.

"I was just standing here and the guy just came up and pushed me real hard with a force, like it was a car that hit me. And he was just yanking my purse and my arm got twisted up in my purse and he just was just yanking it," said victim Sandra Hulsey.

Sandra may have looked like an easy target standing there as her husband, Norman, loaded wood into the couple's pickup truck. It turned out the suspect who shoved Sandra and tried to steal her purse didn't know who he was messing with.

"I had a board in my hand right here and I thought he was going to beg for money...is what I thought," said Norman. "He grabbed her and I already had that door open so I just grabbed my shotgun."

He fired a shot.

"The sound of the shotgun and that dude burning off -- it was funny," said eyewitness Freddy Butler.

Butler chased after the accused purse snatcher. who took off running and ended up asking a police officer for help.

"He displays a weapon and it scares the suspect," said a deputy on the scene. "The suspect runs up the police car and saying, 'Let me in. They are shooting at me'."

Police took the suspect into custody.

"The guy just didn't have any business doing what he was doing," said Sandra. "It's shaken me up but I'm OK."

The suspect was not injured. The Houston Police Department turned over the suspect to the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Deputies say they patrol this area pretty heavily and despite what happened out there Thursday, they have not had many problems in the area.
Now ain't that cute? The purse snatcher running to the cops for protection.

Now if he would just write out and sign a complete confession, plead guilty to the highest charge and demand to be given the fullest sentence possible all will be well.

If not, well, there are more shotguns.

This better count, dammit

750 rounds of .45 ACP better count for National Ammo Day.

It's maybe enough to get me feeling comfortable with hurling .45 ACP down range for gun games.

Okay, okay. I'll go buy more on Nov. 19th. Maybe not .45 ACP, but I'll buy.

I need more .44 ammo.

To The Pundits

This one is pointed at the pundits. You self-anointed phonies.

In the Republican primary race you have one and all rejected Fred Thompson in favor of the jerk you placed your bet on early in the race. Whether that jerk is McCain, Romney or Giuliani you are one and all rejecting Fred Thompson as the Republican Candidate.

I know why. You decided to sign on with a candidate early in hopes of favor down the road.

Do any of your recall how it is that Fred decided to run? It was because of the actual VOTERS (You do remember us, don't you?) sending him money and begging him to get involved. We saw the same crop of jerks you guys did and we rejected each of them. The only genuine conservatives were considered also-rans from the start.

We didn't want your front runners. We wanted someone who we felt had the guts and the good sense that Fred Thompson displays. Not your polished, projected, fake candidates.

Now that REAL people have chosen why must we listen to YOU, the self-righteous prats, in being told that our choice isn't valid?

In the Preamble to the Constitution does it read "We the pundits" or We the people"?

It's OUR nation, not yours. Fred is OUR choice and you should listen to what WE want.

The Stupidity Has Landed

Some very slick commercials have cropped up on one of the few TV channels I deem worthy of turning on. The History Channel.

This bit of stupidity in a slick wrapper is trolling for followers.

I went to that website. I searched their list of 30 (count 'em, 30) Human Rights.

It prattles on and on about how humans have the right be free and unmolested, but not one mention anywhere of a right to self defense. The Right that the UN doesn't consider right.

Nowhere on the website does it say how a human anywhere on the planet can get an enforcement of all these nice warm and fuzzy rights.

How is the right to not be oppressed working out in Darfur? Freedom from unreasonable imprisonment working out okay in China?

Without the recognition (not granting, recognizing) the absolute most basic human right the rest is NOTHING!

If a people is not free to redress their own grievances by force of arms they HAVE NO RIGHTS!

Any politician who doesn't admit that fact is out to enslave you and yours. He is out to MURDER AND RAPE YOU! Not necessarily in that order. It is the lesson of history that is writ large and bold in every language ever used on the planet.

If you don't fight back you are a slave. You will die painfully and slowly. You will see your children murdered and your family disgraced.

Without the most basic Human Right there are no others.

October IDPA Epilogue - Scores

My match score was 177.82 this time around. Not fast, no, not by a long shot.

But this time my overall accuracy earned me a "top ten" placement in figuring accuracy.

Yes, way down at number 8, but last month I didn't even place and the number of competitors was smaller.

IDPA scoring is slanted toward accuracy at the expense of speed. Speed counts, but missing will cost you faster than you can shoot.

"You can't miss fast enough to win." I kept this in mind this time around. I'm not fast in gun handling or on the draw. To score better I need to stop missing and dropping points that I'm good enough to get.

IDPA Vickers count figures your score into seconds, penalizing you for every point you drop. Missing the target will set you back on time.

I"m firing a nearly stock pistol with factory reloads, not soft-shooting special loads.

I'm pretty happy with my score this time. I definitely improved since last month. I hope to keep on improving when I can compete again, hopefully in Decemer or a different weekend in November.

I'm even wondering about switching to the 21 SF.

October IDPA E

Nothing like shooting at a target where you not only can't miss, but you have a smaller area to hit.
No reloads needed, but you could do it if you wanted. Vickers count.

You are a volunteer at a church carnival when 6 baddies enter wearing sloppy, home-made body armor. If you hit them in the head or center of the chest you stop them. One bullet needed in each target, tactical priority. (Nearest to furthest).

I think I missed one but maybe not. I'll know better when the scores are e-mailed. A lot of folks were having trouble seeing if they hit at the furthest targets. They weren't willing to keep shooting after the 6. You figure your bets, though. If you don't know you hit then you can gamble on either having made it vs. taking more time and making sure you plugged the last guys.

October IDPA D

This one sort of doesn't make sense. If you aren't an Only One you aren't supposed to conceal carry into a bar in Texas.

You start seated in this one, too, but here you have to draw while seated and not sweep yourself. Target 1 has to be shot while your butt is still on the bar stool. Then you take out his two buddies who were crouching behind the bar.

This particular part proves differently difficult for different shooters. From my standing angle nearly all of the target is visible. I'm the tallest person shooting there. One of the other guys, though, has less than a foot of my height. This is not going to be as easy for him. Two shots in the T1-T3. That puts you 6 down. Revolvers have to reload, Semi-autos have at most 5 left.

Once you have taken out the boys at the bar you have to engage three more baddies at distance while kneeling behind the bar's far edge for cover.

You have to put 3 each into the three distant targets so you may have 5 and need to pump out 9. Yes, Virginia, there will be a reload.

My first time I often performed a "reload with retention" even when I could have just dropped and slapped. IDPA gives a procedural penalty for dropping a magazine with rounds in it or for dropping a magazine while there is a round in the gun. You have to do a reload with retention. If you aren't at slide like you likely will be penalized if you don't retain.

This time I remembered to be judicious. If I was at slide lock the magazine was hitting the dirt. I don't know how but I'm managed to stop slapping my palm, though one reload was too soft. It was on the National standards stage and I was getting tired.

No blood blisters and fewer magazines failing to seat. I'm feeling better about my gun handling.

I shot this stage pretty well as far as accuracy goes. Even though I never practice firing from kneeling and almost never from cover this doesn't seem too bad to me.

I remember when I had the intermediate training in Colorado and had to crouch behind barrels and fire. This is just more of the same.

I feel I do need to work more on non-dominant hand shooting and still work on gun handling skills. I can pick up more speed on magazine swaps and the draw while not sacrificing accuracy downrange.

October IDPA C

This one was the most complicated COF this month.

Home invasion time. You pull your van into the garage and some thugs try to put the move on you.

Tough luck, boys. This ain't Connecticut!

The van in this case is a donation but so far they still don't seem to have many bullet holes in it and are trying to keep it that way. It still runs.

You start with your weapon in your dominant hand and take on T1 through the rolled down passenger window. Since you only see him from about the nipple line up it's not a big target but close. Two rounds with the dominant hand and then out of the van and taking on T2 through the rolled down door window of the driver side. You can use two hands. I'm pretty sure I didn't bother. Two rounds from that close?

Backing up you have to engage two more targets as they appear, two each. Revolver has to reload before engaging number 4.

Keep backing up and T5 takes two from you.

You have finally backed up enough to get to the end of the stage. Three more baddies, two flanking a hostage.

This was the first COF that I shot and don't remember my score. I did pull a procedural, though. I hadn't neutralized a target before backing up and so that will cost me.

A lesson better learned on the one-way range than on the two-way range.

October IDPA B

The Cirillo Drill.

This drill is challenging. You have two targets half-shielded behind a no-shoot and the third is partially concealed by hard cover.

You don't have to do head shots, but they are actually somewhat 'safe' bets in order to finish this. Each target is supposed to catch two bullets.

Only six hits are needed so revolvers don't face a disadvantage from higher capacity semi-autos. Vickers count so those semi-autos can fire more, if they want.

The squad I was on did this one last and I saw a lot of misses from people who normally don't miss. There was even a Constable competing whose 1911 locked up from being dry as he fired the sixth shot.

I officially only missed once but one was really close to being a miss. I hadn't fired anything except dry in a month so that was part of it, fatigue was there, too.

Why do I feel this drill to be valid? It forces you to face targets that aren't full body.

I'll say it here, but it applies to all the gun games. These are not realistic depictions of a two way gun fight. IDPA is better at making a competitor adhere to something approaching real tactics than IPSC. But it is still a gun game. I do it because it is FUN.

October IDPA A

This month I remembered to ask for COF sheets to try and illustrate my experiences at IDPA.

While the gun range features only 4 "bays" the GM drew upon his recent experiences at the Nationals to set up 5 Course Of Fire (COF) stages within the 4 spaces. While stages 1 and 2 occupied the same bay they were not shot at the same time. Instead they were shot in sequence.

You have a rather simple shoot with almost no movement required by the shooter.

7 yards non-dominant hand, starting gun at a low ready, safety off. One to the body on each, one to the head on each of the first three targets. Six rounds, Vickers count so you can fire more if you want.

That section of the stage concluded you reload, re-holster and back up to 10 yards. This one starts from the draw, dominant hand only, one to each of the first three targets, then back again and conclude with a head shot at the three. Nine rounds, Vickers count.

After this section you reload and move to the final section which calls for a mandatory tactical reload. You are farther back. Your three targets have a buddy with them. You have to serve all your guests one round each to the body and then do a tactical reload and kneel, then serve dessert to your guests in the body.

Complicated scenarios may look more "fun" but this one was both simple and challenging. I think that for a 'game' it was very interesting.

The gun and holster were the same choices as last time. G 22 and Blackhawk CQC holster.

Daniel Boone would have cried

No wonder he abandoned the area for Missouri.

Kentucky is looking to cash in on a reasonable product that has been of vital importance in treating both acute and chronic pain.
Kentucky officials on Thursday sued the manufacturer of OxyContin, the prescription pain reliever dubbed "hillbilly heroin," because of widespread abuse in Appalachia.

A lawsuit filed by Kentucky Attorney General Greg Stumbo and Pike County
officials demands millions in compensation from drug maker Purdue Pharma.
Unlike the scum lawyers in this scandal I have personal experience with OxyContin. Not as someone who ever took it. As someone who has dispensed these tablets.

It works. It isn't perfect, but it works. That some people abuse it is not reason to hit the manufacturer. They didn't run around saying "Get high on this". They have abided by all the rules and regulations of the FDA and the assorted states.

So why go into the extortion racket in Kentucky?

Unintended Consequences

I finally read this book all the way through. It was my second attempt, the first one ending about mid-way through.

It's not a hard read, once you get used to the author's idiosyncrasies. Were it not for the subject matter, however, I doubt I would have bothered.

To call the book thought provoking would be to shortchange the author.

Texas, By God!

A few weeks ago news of a horrific double murder emerged from the gun un-friendly state of Connecticut. A doctor is assaulted, his wife and daughter raped and then murdered, the home set on fire. If the murders hadn't rammed the cops as they left the scene of the crime they might still be free to commit murder.

Those things happen when the law-abiding are made defenseless. When the potential victims are disarmed.

It's not that way in Texas.

A man posing as a police officer forces his way into a home and terrorizes a San Antonio family. The fake police officer attacked the father inside that house, as children and wife watched.

"He hit me with a crow bar in the face threatening to kill me," said the father, who did not want to his identity revealed because he still fears for his family.

He did reveal all of his stitches and staples from the attack.

The pediatrician in Connecticut was beaten, too. Beaten and left to burn to death. The perps were two men with long histories as burglars. Or at least that's what they had plea bargained down to on their earlier convictions. With prosecutors who won't push on real criminals and judges who won't sentence career criminals to significant sentences these two probably had a worse history than we know.

These two beat the doctor, raped and murdered his wife and daughter and set fire to the house.

But in Texas the story didn't end with a whimper. It ended with a bang.

Scared for his family, the father fought back.

"I wasn't going to lay down and let them do what they wanted in my home," said the father. "Good Lord only what they would have done if I would have cooperated they could have killed all of us."

But they didn't because this father managed to get to his gun and fired several shots scaring all three men out of his home.

"We plan on moving out of the neighborhood," said the father. "I've lived here over 30 years, and it's just not safe.

Connecticut, stop letting the criminals and the liberals force you to live in fear! Nation, rise up! Acclaim your right to self defense and MAKE your voice heard!

All you have to lose is your victimhood.

Proof, as if we needed any.

In a move that has stunned New York, the Bloomberg administration is in discussions to escort the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to ground zero during his visit to New York next week, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said today.
Forget the lying. The law breaking. The complete disregard for any glimmer of truth, justice or honoring of the Constitution.

For Bloomberg to even enter negotiations to take Ahmadinejad to Ground Zero while that weasel-faced turd is sending bombs and men to kill Americans in Iraq completely boggles the mind.

If I'm mayor and Ahmadinejad wanted to visit I'd tell him and his entourage to paint their faces and prepare to die.

There is only one way he belongs at Ground Zero. As a head on a pike.

Anyone in office who disagrees with that needs to take their stuff and get out. France or Canada may want you. I don't.

The Only Ones Stealing Enough

Lee Paige has given the world one gift. The gift of a phrase that besmirches all the self-inflated public servants.

I usually only forward these but I think I'll start posting some here, too.

ROBELINE, La. - This village's only convenience store decided to do something nice for its police officers: give them a free fountain drink or coffee at closing time. But somewhere along the way, investigators say, it got out of control. Now, all three of the village's officers are accused of stealing snacks.

"Over a period of time, it evolved into regular drinks and more," Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's investigator Travis Trammell said. "There's no telling how it got to this point, but the store started experiencing losses and they watch their videotapes and see all of this going on."

Surveillance tapes showed each officer going into the Shop-A-Lott at Lott Oil around closing time and filling plastic bags with dozens of bottled soft drinks, Trammell said. The officers also are reportedly seen eating an assortment of other snacks without paying.

Police Chief Gordon O'Con confirmed that the officers remain on active duty, but said he was advised not to commment about their arrests. There was no answer at the police department Friday when The Associated Press made repeated calls seeking comment from the officers.

What makes this an Only Ones is that these cops are still on duty, still armed. Afforded the means and opportunity to take retribution upon those who dare to call an armed robber an armed robber.

Can someone take a message?

Hello, U.N.? Can you take a message for me? I want to give your racism investigator a bit of a clue.

First up, what sort of wastoid position is that? Racism investigator? What did he find in Sudan? Oh, he didn't investigate there! So what good is he?

Yes, I know he's yet another muslim crying about Islamaphobia.

The United Nations investigator on racism on Friday condemned a rising trend of Islamaphobia, especially in Europe, where he said it was being exploited by some right-wing political parties.

Doudou Diene, U.N. special rapporteur on racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related forms of intolerance, also accused Switzerland's most popular party, the right-wing Swiss People's Party (SVP/UDC), of inciting hatred.

Now maybe this "special rapporteur" should maybe have a minder, like the rest of the kids on the short bus. It's clear that he's that sort of "special".

"In the current context, Islamaphobia constitutes the most serious form of religious defamation," Diene said in a speech and report to the U.N. Human Rights Council, whose 47 member states were holding a debate on religious defamation.

More and more political leaders and influential media and intellectuals were "equating Islam with violence and terrorism," and some were seeking to "silence religious practices by banning the construction of mosques," Diene said.

Hey, special guy. It wasn't the world who linked Islam with violence and terrorism. It was Muslims who made that link and they've been forging that link for the past several decades. When a Buddhist is beheaded in Indonesia it's a Muslim doing the violence. When there is a terrorist attacking London it's a Muslim doing the terrorism.

WE aren't doing that to Islam. YOUR PEOPLE ARE!

Now, I'm sure you folks at the U.N. really don't want to have anything to do with racism. Guess what. There's racism in the United States. I suggest you folks clear out. Don't stay to the end of your lease. Pick up stakes and move. Let's see. Dubai has a big tower of Babel they just built. Surely they need tenants.

Take your Koran kissing on the road, jack and don't come back no more.

IDPA is fun!

I got to the club and participated in the IDPA shoot. If I recall there was a total of 16 people participating, split into two squads. We shot in 4 different bays set up with different courses of fire.

The one that cost the most time to everyone was perhaps one of the more creative. The Gun Show.

You've been a good boy and let the security at the gun show put a cable tie through your pistol barrel. You are bent over a table looking at something when some not-good boys pull out guns and start trouble. Your task is the draw your disabled side arm, remove the cable tie, load, chamber and engage the first three targets, then an accomplice in the middle of the imaginary "room" as you move to cover while avoiding a hit on a no-shoot. This being IDPA you are only allowed 10 rounds.

From cover you can re-load and engage three more bad guys, one who is peeking out from behind hard cover.

This stage took the most time from all the participants. I thought it was very creative.

Another stage involved a van used as a prop. Gone campin'. You are carrying in the woods and were engaged in some target practice. You still have 6 rounds in your arm as you are confronted by three armed adversaries. You put 2 each into the three, one of which is dodging frantically. You move with an empty firearm to the back of your van and grab two magazines. The three bad guys had four friends and you have to engage them, too. Again, one has hard cover.

When I did this one I created something of a stir. The plastic barrels the club uses for "hard cover" aren't all that hard. Usually glancing blows result in a flyer zinging overhead. Nothing I hadn't heard before at shooting berms. If you hear them ducking is pretty pointless. They were gone before your ear registered what that sound was.

Somehow my truncated cone FMJ 180 grain .40 S&W found its way into a barrel instead of just glancing off. Once it got in it didn't get out. It went zooming around INSIDE the barrel for a few seconds. People were looking around, trying to spot the aircraft that seemed to be right on top of us.

The remaining two stages were more straight forward engagements of targets.

The results are in. I was dead last. No suprise. It tells me where I start from. Hopefully I only go up from here!

Excellent...

The destruction of the Democrat's hopes for the White House has begun.

As usual, they are doing it to themselves.

Winfrey holds fundraiser for Obama

The most powerful woman in show business was set to celebrate her favorite candidate at her palatial estate in this coastal enclave south of Santa Barbara. Tickets to the sold-out private event went for $2,300 apiece, keeping them within campaign finance limits. Stevie Wonder was scheduled to perform for the guests, who were expected to include actors Will Smith, Jamie Foxx and Halle Berry. By late afternoon other guests, including actors Linda Evans and Dennis Haysbert and TV director Paris Barclay, had arrived.
This is, in the words of C. Montgomery Burns, is "Excellent!"

Because the only figure on the Democrat side that stands a chance of winning is Hillary any major disintegration and waste of money on the primary fight is going to help ensure a Republican win.

I hope Sen. Obama can see the truth of my words and says "I don't care! Mommy told me I could be a President! I wanna be President!" The longer he holds out expecting to get the DLC nod the deeper the divide between the Democrats and Black Americans.

With the highly paid Black Americans paying court to their candidate (who has nothing in common with them) we have a division between a major voting block which is historically taken for granted by the Democrats.

The DLC will never give Obama the nod. The DNC is just a sock puppet for the DLC. The DLC wants Hillary.

This spells disaster. Without the votes the Democrats always take for granted they won't have a chance in the general election. In fact, without Obama in the race, many Black Americans will probably stay home rather than vote at all, helping to ensure more Republican victories in 2008.

The beauty of it is that the Democrats are doing this to themselves.

I can feel it comin' in the air tonight...

IDPA.

I have a day off from work. I have an IDPA match within convenient driving distance. I have an IPSC safety card.

I have to give this game a try.

IDPA is closer to what I want to do than IPSC. If you are talking open carry you are for IPSC. If you are talking concealed you are talking IDPA. Now, that's not apparently a firm rule at the club I'm going to. This being Texas cover garments are sometimes eliminated.

Choices. When I took the IPSC safety course I wore an Uncle Mike's kydex holster on my hip. This holster was fine for IPSC.

It rates as the only holster mentioned in the IDPA rulebook I got today as the one you CAN'T use. Maybe the guys at this club are lax enough that it won't matter.

Or maybe I'd better look at other options.

Fobus IWB Glock holster and and Galco Combat Master intended for the G 19/23.

Maybe I should just figure on shooting the Glock 23? If that's what I want to carry shouldn't I try shooting it in the gun game?

Or should I tolerate the G22 sticking out of the Combat Master holster by at least half an inch?

Decisions decisions. The Gibsons has a terrible selection of holsters. If I could get my hands on a Galco Matrix for the Glock I'd choose that. Not sure if I ever picked up a Blackhawke CQC Serpa for the Glock.

Or chuck the Glock platform and pull out the Serpa I know I have for my Beretta 96D? With the trigger job it's better than standard. The club is more likely to overlook the aftermarket grips than a non-permitted holster.

Or take the DOH of my BladeTech DOH holster for the CZ SP 01 and shoot 9mm?

I haven't been practicing enough.

Not for scoring.

Sissy.

If you put that in your holster and carried it you'd not worry about practice. You know you can hit a torso sized target up to 50 yards without even trying. Handgun, rifle, it doesn't matter. You just got too used to firing into those 3" Shoot-N-C targets.

You could shoot this thing with the 27 and you know it.

Quit trying to beat yourself before you get to the paper.

This is a gun game.

You are better than that.

Go and show them. You are better than they think. You are better than you think. You are good. Not fast. Not yet. But you are good.

Whiskey River Part II

The exploration of bourbon continues. Jim Beam Black is okay but not worth the premium. Eagle Rare is a single barrel bourbon. Taste is lighter than some I've tried. So far Jack Daniels No. 7 or Bulleit are my favorites.

At least bourbons are half the price of good single malt scotch.

Whiskey River

Whiskey River take my mind.
Don't let her mem'ry torture me.
Whiskey River don't run dry.
You're all I got take care of me.

Yes, that is perhaps the ultimate Willie Nelson song.

I learned to drink beer so long ago that I hate to think about it. Olympia (do they still make that crap?), Schlitz, Falstaff, Miller, Bud, Bush, Coors.

I had drank wine and some mixed drinks. For a time rum and coke were what I craved. Haven't tasted one in nearly two decades.

Along the way through my life I tasted Irish and Scotch whiskeys and decided that they were for me. Scotch more than Irish. The flavor was more rich and complex.

Yes, I've used whiskey for analgesia. When Vicodin didn't ease the pain after surgery Scotch did.

I'd avoided bourbon. To me bourbon was the foul-tasting stuff I sometimes mistook for soda in a glass that tasted worse than medicine. Bourbon balls were different, but just barely.

The move to Texas has prompted me to explore more whiskeys than just Irish and Scotch.

So far I've tasted Jack Daniels, a Tennessee bourbon and Bulleit, a Kentucky bourbon. I've also tasted Crown Royal. The Canadian whiskey on the rocks seemed light, almost tasteless. I prefer richer flavors.

Jack Daniels is OK. I'm trying to decide if I prefer Kentucky to Tennessee method. Kentucky is limestone filtered, Tennessee is charcoal filtered. There are some complex differences between the two I tried.

The flavor is not as bad as I recall. There are rich flavors that rival those I find in Scotch. I think I'll be exploring these for a time.

Tomorrow I should be trying my father's brand, Jim Beam.

NOTE: Alcohol and gunpowder do not mix. I will not touch a gun or gun part when drinking. When touching guns or gun parts I do not drink. Even though I do not drink past a certain warm feeling I know that my judgement is impaired and I could ease up on my safety discipline.
I've already had one negligent discharge in my life. I was young. I was stupid. No one got hurt. I want that to be the only one for the rest of my life.

I don't normally post this stuff

I don't normally post this sort of thing, but the headline leaped out to grab my attention.

British dwarf's penis gets stuck to hoover

That's bad enough, but the first paragraph was worse.

EDINBURGH (AFP) - A dwarf performer at the Edinburgh fringe festival had to be rushed to hospital after his penis got stuck to a vacuum cleaner during an act that went horribly awry.
You may ask your self "How could this NOT have gone awry?" Dwarf, fringe festival, vacuum cleaner. Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me.

It's not that the size of the performer that makes for trouble. No, it's the one-up spirit of things like a "fringe festival". Last year the 450 lb transvestite singing "The Good Ship Lollipop" was the big "thing". So what's a guy to do but get out his Hoover and stick it...

You can see the problem. It could have been the 450 lb transvestite who suffered this fate if things had turned out different.

Adios Colorado, Hey y'all, Texas

After ten years of watching an otherwise attractive state being subjected to Californication.

For those who haven't suffered from this unnatural act Califorinication is where the worst liberal ideas that never worked in California are shoved down the throat of honest citizens.

If the incompetent slime balls doing this statute-tory rape were at least modestly talented at providing basic services it wouldn't be so bad. Such is not the case, though.

A moron who doesn't see that gun control never reduces crime is also not capable of removing snow from streets and sidewalks. That is why Denver suffered this past winter and why I wasn't sticking around. A corrupt lawyer who lets illegal aliens stay in this country after committing crimes is presiding over a state plagued by increasing crime.

There are great people in Colorado and I hope they make their escape someday.

I'm now residing in a state that hasn't had much corruption from the Left Side.

Some things that stand out about what's different between here and there. Used to be that when I took gun-related material into my employer (to read when on official break) I felt I had to hide it. If caught with a gun magazine I felt like I may face termination. I had to conceal carry LITERATURE or face penalties.

On Friday I spotted a fellow employee openly carrying a copy of "Shotgun News". Imagine that. Open carry of gun literature while at work! Won't see that in Colorado.

In Colorado I didn't talk a lot about my hobbies. Telling people you spent the weekend training with guns could get you a pink slip in Colorado.

Here the cute blond with the low-cut tops is complaining about (and displaying) the "hickey" her 20 gauge left on her shoulder during a family trap shoot over the weekend. She also complained that her little brother's 28 gauge wasn't enough gun for her tastes. Cute blonde nurses who are more macho than Dick Cheney. Won't find that in Colorado.

And last but not least there is that herb that I crave. I find it plentiful here, though some sources for it are better than others. It's an herb that I found hard to obtain in Colorado.

I am referring of course to...

OKRA. Particularly fried okra. I've found a small cafe that will sell some pretty good fried okra at $2.00 a heaping plate. So far theirs is the best in town, too.

I think I'm gonna like it here.

Good guy gets his man, already has great woman

Courtesy of Clayton Cramer's blog this news story.

A business owner takes the law into his own hands and holds a suspected crook at gunpoint until police arrive. The suspect was allegedly breaking into cars at a business complex on North Cascade.

No, you moron with a press pass. The guy DIDN'T take the law into his own hands. The suspect was not tried, sentenced and executed. He was merely inconvenienced for a time.

There is a huge difference between what really happened and "takes the law into his own hands". If you can't understand that difference who let you out without a babysitter?

Just after midnight, something strange was going on outside the businesses. "He had taken a transformer off of Roger's truck and was beating on a car window. That was thumping noise I heard," Kristi Lyons told 11 News.

Her husband, Mike, grabbed his gun and ran outside. They knew there was an intruder when they saw the plastic window on their car sliced open.

Kristi said the suspect was caught red-handed, hiding behind and underneath cars in the parking lot.

"Mike had him at gunpoint. He said, ‘We can do this the easy way or the hard way.’ I called police." She was on the phone for about 5 minutes while she watched Mike go after the suspect.

"Mike had the kid at gunpoint. He started advancing toward Mike with a knife and Mike fired off a shot to let him know that he wasn’t kidding."

Police arrested 24-year-old Richard Richardson.

I respect Fits' assessment of warning shots. If you need to pull the trigger it should be the warning to your attacker that he has just bought his final ticket to hell. He had a whole string of second chances before meeting up with you. You don't owe him one more.

"I wish he would've shot the guy," said Lisa Yunker who owns the business next door. She said the row of businesses has been broken into several times. “Everyone is sick of it, this whole complex. We don't know why we're targeted."
Probably because the cops aren't watching your place despite the repeated crimes. Crooks are lazy or they wouldn't BE crooks and if they get away with stealing at a place they'll keep coming back until someone stops them.

I know the guy should have been shot, but not for stealing. For advancing on an armed citizen. Stupidity should be fatal.

For now, everyone who works there thinks of Kristi's husband as a hero. Kristi told 11 News she’d do it all over again if another intruder came onto her property, but “With a bigger gun."

Richard Richardon is behind bars charged with criminal mischief, trespassing and assault. Police said they had been looking for him earlier in the night for allegedly attacking a kid with a baseball bat.

I think Kristi's husband should be very glad he has such a good woman backing him up!

As to the cops "looking for" this guy for beating up a kid with a baseball bat, WHY DIDN'T YOU FIND HIM FIRST? He seems to have had all kinds of time to go and steal what he was after.

Help! I need somebody. Help! Not just anybody.

The Democrat party revealed its true position. At least we got something out of the latest debate debacle.

With Joe Biden insulting a voter for asking for protection against unconstitutional assaults on our liberties and the applause he was rendered he has just signed his most important act in all these years of being a Presidential wannabe.

He has handed the Republicans the keys to the Whitehouse and Congress in 2008.

If they have the guts to pick them up.

Democrats finding themselves in deep lunar guano after Mama Moonbat perches.

Once upon a time it was liberal gospel that Cindy Sheehan only got arrested for harassing George W. Bush. Poor, poor Cindy. Everywhere she turned up to protest George W. Bush she got arrested, usually for the benefit of video cameras.

Now the Democrats hold both the House and Senate and again poor, poor Cindy is getting arrested! Must be that evil George W. Bush and his neo-con fascists!

Wait a minute, Mabel. She wasn't near George W. Bush. She wasn't near Crawford. She wasn't near the White House.

No, this time she got arrested in John Conyer's office.

Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan was arrested Monday at the Capitol for disorderly conduct, shortly after saying she would run against House Speaker Nancy PelosiCalifornia Democrat's refusal to try to impeach President Bush.

I hear you asking, as do I, how can this be? Aren't the Democrats the very soul of honest and integrity? Don't they always deliver what they promise? They are so unlike those evil Republicans.

Well, here it is happening. Not a Bush in sight and St. Cindy of Crawford is being led away.

"Impeachment is not a fringe movement, it is mandated in our Constitution. Nancy Pelosi had no authority to take it off the table," Sheehan told her group of orange-clad activists before they began their march from the national cemetery.
What's the matter, Cindy? Didn't Nancy do what she promised you she'd do? I guess Nancy was busy trying to figure out how to exempt her campaign contributors from the raise in minimum wage she promised to deliver.

Conyers introduced a bill last term calling on Congress to determine whether there are grounds for impeaching Bush. Pelosi has steadfastly dismissed any talk of impeachment, saying Democrats should focus their efforts on ending the war in Iraq.
Well, Cindy, you got a bill to be introduced, then stabbed to death on the floor of the House by (gasp!) another woman. Why, only MEN can be so cruel and calloused toward a grieving mother! That's leftist gospel! If that's untrue then what part of the left's house of cards is standing?

A Coat of High Gloss

Continuing on from the point in the novel mentioned in a previous post I came across a much different scene in the book.

In this one the wounded Union soldiers have been evacuated to Mound City, IL where they are in a military hospital.

The scene revolves around a visit by a couple of U.S. Senators on a fact finding mission.

The first testimony they elicit is from a black soldier about the behavior of Confederates after the fall of Fort Pillow.

The soldier mentions the murder of unarmed black soldiers by Confederates but also mentions Confederate officers trying to halt the murder.

He is told in no uncertain terms that the visitors don't want to hear anything at all about Confederates trying to prevent butchery. The message is understood by the rest of the soldiers and no one else offers up testimony that mentions anyone attempting to stop the slaughter of unarmed men.

What this brings to mind for me is the way the mainstream media behaves today as opposed to how they behaved in times past.

Can you imagine winning WWII if the U.S. press had not mentioned German and Japanese atrocities? If they had played up or even invented atrocities committed by U.S. forces?

Can you imagine the result of the Civil War if Union atrocities were played up in the northern press and Confederate atrocities allowed to slide under the radar?

Today we have a media which completely ignores atrocities committed by Muslims, unless those Muslims are supposed allies of the U.S. "Palestinians" or Lebanese rockets landing in Israel is glossed over. Israel targeting true military targets are portrayed as war mongers.

No one in the U.S. has avoided hearing of Abu Gharaib. Yet how many mentions in the mainstream press exist about the slaughter of Iraqi civilians, many children, by the "insurgents"? Michael Yon is the lone voice in the wilderness telling the truth while tales of wholesale destruction and atrocity by U.S. forces or those aligned with them get reported ad nauseum.

The United States is being handicapped in the war against Islamic fascists by our own media and the Democrat party, their political allies.

I would have no issue with the mainstream media if it deal with atrocities from both sides equally. Instead the forces of the Muslim horde are given a free pass to murder, rape, loot, steal and shit in the living room while forces of Israel and the U.S. are humiliated, denigrated and sabotaged at every turn, even when they remember to say "please" and "thank you" when exchanging bullets with armed terrorists.

There is no fair and balanced view. Not on Fox. Not on PBS. Not on CNN.

And even if our side did lead the race to commit atrocities do you know what?

I don't care.

They are OUR side and I want them to WIN. Loosing isn't optional. It won't mean a small inconvenience, it will mean continued war against a people that seek to destroy and/or enslave my nation.

If we have to beat them by being nastier sons of bitches than the people we are fighting then so be it.

Learning is FUNdamental

Primary school students in Nigeria now have a new reason to love the $100.00 laptops donated to them.

It's where their porn stash is located.

Nigerian schoolchildren who received laptops from a U.S. aid organization have used them to explore pornographic sites on the Internet, the official News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported Thursday.

NAN said its reporter had seen pornographic images stored on several of the children's laptops.

"Efforts to promote learning with laptops in a primary school in Abuja have gone awry as the pupils freely browse adult sites with explicit sexual materials," NAN said.

A representative of the One Laptop Per Child aid group was quoted as saying that the computers, part of a pilot scheme, would now be fitted with filters.

This came after the earlier news story that these laptops had been delivered to school buildings with no electricity in them.

Maybe if we'd sent these kids low-tech education they'd spend less time searching for porn and more time learning history, science, art, literature and mathematics. You know, books. Those things that they used to use in schools in this country. You don't need electricity to use them. They don't connect to the Internet and they helped humankind learn for a long time.

Deja War

I'd recently been reading Harry Turtledove's novel about the fall of Fort Pillow during the U.S. Civil War.

For those who haven't read his other works Turtledove is real historian who branched into writing science fiction and fantasy. While his professional area of history is the Byzantine Empire he has a passion for the events of the Civil War.

He's visited it so many times from so many angles I half expect him to appear in portraits alongside Lee or Grant, or both together.

It was in the latest book that I'm reading that I ran across a passage that has real meaning in today's world. I don't know if Turtledove was incorporating thoughts of past soldiers later entered on paper or if he was thinking of today when he wrote it.

"What can we do about it?" Anderson echoed. "Keep fighting the Yankees as hard as we can. Keep licking them. Keep making them sweat. Keep making them bleed. Abe Lincoln is up for reelection this fall. If we make the North decide the war is more expensive than it's worth, if we make it decide the war is more goddam trouble than it's worth, they'll throw Lincoln that son of a bitch out on his ear. Whichever Democrat they put in will make peace and send the bluebellies home. And we'll have our own country then. That's what we can do, by God."

"I understand, sir." Ward looked respectfully at the officer, who wasn't that much older than he was. "I really do understand. When I joined up, I did it so I could fight the damnyankees."

"Who doesn't?" Anderson said.

"Yes, sir. But that was all I thought about, you know what I mean? What you said, I didn't think about that even a little bit. How the war and politics fit together, I mean. And they do. They truly do."

"You'd best believe they do," Charles Anderson agreed. "Way things are no, we won't ever drive the United States off our land with guns. Maybe we could have once upon a time, but we lost too many chances. But if we can make those Yankee bastards sick of fighting us, they'll give up and go home. And we win that way, too. So that's what we've got to try and do."
Though there are references and slang that are particular to the time and place, the thoughts are the same. This is the mind of the enemy we face today in Iraq.

They can not win any battle. Lee won more battles than any Iraqi ever got close to winning. In the book the two characters are both Confederates discussing the war after they finished winning one small battle of the Civil War, Fort Pillow.

The Iraqi insurgents can't win battles. Nor can the Iran or Saudi backed terrorists from outside win any battles. We win all the battles, yet our politicians keep talking about the "price" of this war.

The United States stood firm against defeat in a war that cost HUNDREDS of times the lives we have lost in Iraq. This at a time when our national population was only a tiny fraction of what it is today. On the battlefields armies nearly equaling the size of our total deployment in Iraq fought.

The cost to our nation then was staggering. Both in lives and money our nation hemorrhaged like no other time in all its history during the Civil War.

Why, suddenly, are we so hesitant to do unto those who attacked us on 9/11/01 what we did to those who shot at Fort Sumter? May I remind the ladies and gentlemen of the Left that when the South fired on Fort Sumter there was no loss of life. On 9/11/01 there were 3,000 dead, all civilians. People like you.

Get past your hatred of George W. Bush. Get past your clinging to "he lied" speeches. What we face now is far, far worse than letting the South break away from the Union. The Confederates weren't going to be coming to Chicago and forcing blacks into slavery who had never been slaves. Al Qaeda will.

But you can trust that if we do not halt the Islamic terrorists we will be having Muslims enslave those of us who are not. Literally.

Remember the fictional conversation between those two Confederates. That is how those we fight are thinking. If they can just hold on until a Democrat gets into the Presidency then they can finally win. They will have their own country.

Fired At, Then Fired. UPDATED

In a perfect example of hate crime laws not being used when the victim is white an immigrant turned citizen from Germany is intimidated and then shot at, but the local law enforcement won't consider the incident "racially charged".

Here is a guy who came over with his family in the 1950s from Germany. He's a full citizen. He knows he's an immigrant and has NO PROBLEMS with IMMIGRANTS. What he doesn't like are ILLEGAL ALIENS. (The caps are there so that even morons from the media can see the truth.)

He had a second job working in a 7-11. He chose to work that as his second job to qualify for the dental care offered to employees.

When he wasn't working he wore a cap with the words "U.S. Border Patrol" on the front.

One night he was at his job and two men entered the store and in full view of the store's surveillance cameras threatened him with bodily harm and worse because of the cap he wears when he is NOT on the job.

After the threats these guys hang around (loitered) in front of the store then left sight. Shortly after the store employee went off duty and left the store someone fired 5 shots into the front of the store from the darkness, all aimed to where the employee had been standing during the threats and intimidation. The shots did not connect with anyone.

After the gunfire the store gave this man 7 days paid leave. When that was over they fired him. Over the phone.

Southland corporation is giving out false stories. Stories so false they won't go on the air since to do so would put them on record with stories they know wouldn't stand up if this man gets a lawyer to sue them.

Can anyone tell me, with a straight face, that if this man had been Latino, had worn a "La Rasa" ball cap and the threatening had been done by two white guys that the local police chief would be denying racism as a motive? I'd give $10.00 to the police chief if he could say that where a voice stress analysis machine could be used.

Here we have a racially motivated crime. The victim is white. The suspects Latino. Will these two men, captured on surveillance video, ever be caught? Will they ever be charged? No, you could bet your money that they will never be charged.

And the victim is out of his job because his employer doesn't want to piss off the illegal aliens.

Update:

For those not reading comments the 7-11 employee agreed to go on a polygraph, paid for by a Denver area talk radio station.

The results came from the polygrapher live on the air this morning. On the questions asked that the radio host and the polygrapher agreed to use this guy was judged to be telling the truth on every one of them.

What you can be sure of is that the Basalt, CO chief of police will NOT go on a polygraph to prove that HE is telling the truth. 7-11 is being mealy-mouthed, using that police chief's statements to stand by their decision to fire an employee.

BTW, this shooting occured 6/26/07. To date there has been no word of suspects questioned, let alone jailed for the five rounds fired through the front window of a 7-11 in which another clerk and five customers were present.

Hey, buddy, can you spare $10,000?

What we have here is a failure of pocket change. I've got $10.00 and want $10,000. No problem for Hillary Clinton and a little insider trading. Big problem for someone who works for a living.

Own an American masterpiece, a Browning M2 Heavy Barrel 50 caliber machine gun! Even better, own one that you aren’t required to have a Class 3 license! This M2 was professionally rebuilt by TNW firearms, Inc. with genuine GI parts, the full auto feature was disabled, and it is now a semi-automatic belt fed M2. This makes this gun an accurate 50 caliber rifle rather than just an expensive ammo drain. A picatinny scope rail is integral with the sight assembly, and with a scope this weapon can punch a pie plate group at 1000 yards. It did just that at the 2003 50 caliber World Championships. With ball ammo too!

This machine gun allows you to shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger. So if you like to make a lot of noise, you can do that too. You will just hit more of what you target.

The gun comes with an ATF approval letter, original M2 training manual, head spacing gauge, left and right hand feed, and a second barrel. Both barrels have had low use. You can’t buy one of these anymore from TNW, as the supply has dried up.
A full size (uncut) M3 tripod is matched to this gun.
Don't remind me that I couldn't afford to feed this pet without starving the smaller critters.

For What It's Worth

Local events that don't seem to have made national news have me taking a trip down memory lane.
"There's somethin' happenin' here
What it is ain't exactly clear"
The lines float up from my memory. Despite hearing them a million plus times on the radio the memory they stir is rooted in hearing them live. Not from the original group but some not terrible tribute group called Buffalo Springfield Revisited. They were the opening act for the Guess Who on the night I did my one and only stint as a bar bouncer.

The police recently found explosives, including nitro, in a home in the Denver metro area. The owner had to be tear gassed out for the search. The police initially interviewed and then released him. Later they arrested him when he tried to re-enter the house.

The search and arrest seem linked to loud explosions heard by this guy's neighbors but some digging this morning pointed to a larger story than some guy cooking up nitro for fun.

Earlier this year someone was laying explosive booby traps in a clinic parking lot in the same area of the metro region.

After the cops started to look into this there were more reported explosions out in the county at large, out where fewer witnesses could spot something. Someone seemed to be testing something.

What is weird is that the cops aren't claiming these incidents to be linked. At least that is the story today. They are claiming he had a stockpile of weapons and ammo, but to the press a stockpile is one .22 rifle and a box of cartridges.

If this guy ISN'T part of the other incident do we have a rash of mad bombers? Did someone hold a bomb maker's convention and not put out enough flyers?

A few casual searches on this guy turned up info that he had a patent or two to his name and had participated the local charity race a couple of times a few years back. So far he seems to be a lone operator.

If I hear more I'll post more.

It's still not exactly clear what is happening here.

Unequal treatment

I'm usually bemused by people who work in the media. This type normally finds themselves somehow able to believe that they are morally superior to me without ever meeting me. They know all the facts without ever visiting a place. They know what is important on instinct and are never wrong. They are, in point of fact, legends in their own minds.

What is evident is their unequal treatment of two inanimate objects. A story I found on the news this morning illustrates this point.

SELMER, Tenn. - Investigators were trying to determine what caused a drag-racing car to lose control during a parade and careen into a crowd, killing four people and injuring up to 15 others.

The crash occurred Saturday night during an "exhibition burnout" at the Cars for Kids charity event in Selmer, located about 80 miles east of Memphis, according to a drag-racing organization. A burnout is when a driver spins a car's tires to make them heat up and smoke.

Witness Scott Henley said the vehicle started burning off its tires, then began to fishtail and slammed into a utility pole before spinning around into the audience.

Selmer Police Chief Neal Burks said, "bodies were flying into the air when it happened."

Tennessee Highway Patrol spokesman Mike Browning said at least eight people were taken to three hospitals. The fatalities were all adults, he said.

The identities of the victims and the driver, or the driver's condition, were not immediately known.

Compare and contrast that example of reporting with coverage of firearms deaths. What we have here is a machine that is very likely not legal on a public street being used in a parade. There is a human operating it. It matters little whether the vehicle was street legal. The same issue applies to all news coverage of automobile related deaths.

If a person had shot 4 people fatally and wounded 15 this story would be major headlines. Since it wasn't done with a gun it just barely rates a story. If it hadn't been at a parade it might not get mention at all.

You can bet money that if these same people had died from a single shooter's actions, accident or intentional, there would be accompanying stories calling for more restrictions on gun ownership. If it happened in a place where citizens aren't allowed to own guns, such as Washington, D.C. there would be calls to restrict guns in nearby places.

But every single day more people lose their lives to automobiles than guns. Every single day. Day after day. It doesn't matter what age group you are looking at more people are killed in auto-related fatalities than by all the firearms out there. And there are many times more cars, trucks and buses than there are guns.

But there are no calls to restrict ownership of automobiles. If drugs or alcohol are involved there might be some preaching related to the publics' consumption of these. No one demands that the driving age be raised. No one is insisting on background checks on purchasers of automobiles.

This is a honking-big example of hypocrisy.

"But you can't conceal a car, you can conceal a gun!"

Having something concealed doesn't make it more deadly. No one, not even those who choose or can not afford to buy a car can avoid being near cars and people in them on a daily basis. Consider this "open carry". Employers who try to ban firearms from employee vehicles have no problem at all with those same employees each arriving in their own vehicle. They don't try to regulate the size, fuel capacity or safe use of such vehicles. I can think of at least two co-workers of mine that I've lost due to automobile fatalities and zero to firearms. Both employers allowed automobiles and banned firearms.

"But everyone needs transportation!"

True. But does everyone need to own an automobile? Our country is laid out in a way that encourages automobile use. Outside of major metropolitan areas there is usually no subway, often no passenger trains at all. Bus service is usually slow and sketchy. That is why the automobile has risen to become so ubiquitous. We are set up to employ it that way.

At one time you would have searched far and wide to find a home without a firearm. That was before the self-described journalists started telling people how evil guns were. Telling them how a gun in the home is more likely to be used on the owner or their family. I still want to find the liar who made that one up and introduce him to Louis Ville Slugger, Proctologist. Since no one collects data on how many crimes don't occur because the owner displays a weapon there is no way to ascertain how often a gun in the home is "used" without any injury to prevent crime.

How often does displaying a car to a criminal prevent a crime? Something close to zero?

"Guns don't prevent crime!"

Another lie. Every bleeding heart liberal bemoans capital punishment. They would rather 100 guilty men live out their full lives than possibly execute one innocent man. They proclaim this while glossing over the many, many stories of people who prevent crimes and sometimes put a permanent end to the careers of many very, very guilty people. All without resorting to DNA evidence. Those people who use a gun to defend themselves and their families aren't "taking justice into their own hands". They are preventing innocent people from being victimized by the guilty. You don't need a judge and jury present to determine that someone trying to beat you up is guilty. You don't need a judge and jury present to determine that someone attempting to rape you is guilty. You don't need a judge and jury present to determine that someone coming into your home and attacking you is guilty.

If those guilty people don't like to face the instant death penalty from their victims then maybe they WILL be deterred. No one ever measures that in asking if the death penalty deters crime. They only ask it in regards to one applied by the State. If the victim gets to do it while the bad people are preying upon the good people the bad people will probably avoid acting in bad ways. If not then they won't do it again. I call THAT deterrence.

There is no point of logic wherein gun banners can win. The problem is that gun banners aren't logical. Since they know they can't win on logic they lie.

"They don't belong here and they need to be controlled."

There are more aliens invading the U.S. These are threatening crops, wildlife and ultimately the citizens of Florida.

GRASSY KEY, Florida (Reuters) - Deep in the heart of the Florida Keys, wildlife officials are laying bait laced with poison to try to wipe out a colony of enormous African rats that could threaten crops and other animals.

U.S. federal and state officials are beginning the final phase of a two-year project to eradicate the Gambian pouched rats, which can grow to the size of a cat and began reproducing in the remote area about eight years ago.

The story states that this population came from escapees from an exotic pet breeder.

This species is now banned from importation after another population began to spread monkey pox, related to human small pox, to prairie dogs.

When contacted by this blogger Sen. Kennedy's office would neither confirm or deny that they are proposing an amnesty plan for the Gambian pouched rats. The Gambian pouched rats, however, are planning mass demonstrations, carrying the Gambian flag for the near future.

AP spreads its legs for yet another customer

The Associated Press has long ago become the whore for the Muslim market. This little-reported story isn't news to the rest of the MSM. Roughly 50% of the AP's budget is bought and paid for by Muslim interests to produce news content in Arabic for consumption in the Muslim world.

With that sort of incentive it's quite plain why the AP hires "journalists" who print false stories, publishes doctored photos and is loathe to call Muslims terrorists.

It is the journalistic equivalant of whoring.

Now it looks like they have a new customer. Either that or they are giving it away free, now.

Environmentalists have spent decades acquiring and preserving 90,000 riverfront acres of Texas scrub and forest and protecting their wildlife. Now they fear the hundreds of miles of border fences will undo their work and kill some land animals by cutting them off from the Rio Grande, the only source of fresh water.

A fence could also prevent the ocelots and other animals from swimming across the water to mate with partners on the other side.

"If you have a fence that runs several miles long, if you are a tortoise or any animal that can't fly over or go through it, then you have a pretty long distance that you have to go to get water," said Brown, an outreach manager at the Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge, 225 miles south of San Antonio. Also, "any destruction of any brush is very damaging."

This AP story is wearing too much red lipstick and dressed for "work".

While it makes the case for how bad the proposed border fence will be for the wildlife in the area it clearly avoids talking about how the swarm of humans moving across the border already impacts the delicate ecosystems.

There is almost no mention of the tons of trash left in the wake of the illegal aliens as they move north. Not one word about what the armed drug traffic does to the wildlife. No, they'll give you a picture of a cute ocelot and not tell you about them being shot at with full auto AKs which are a favorite of the drug runners south of the border.

The story is full of how much fence has been requested and how much has been spent on the area's preservation while not telling you that there's been almost no fence construction.

The article claims that there is a booming tourism to the area without telling you what happens to U.S. tourists who might stray into the path of drug runners or human smugglers.

Once again the story the AP wishes to present is this liberal fantasy of a dreaded, oppressive U.S. impact on something while ignoring anyone else's responsibility for damage. The feeling presented is that the fence is evil and those putting up the fence are evil. Not one ounce of blame for those who make the fence a necessity.

Wars and rumors of wars

I don't like to spread gossip. I don't spread rumors. I prefer to keep my mouth shut because from my childhood to today I've seen an awful lot of bull flying. I'm usually suprised if something actually comes of 90% of what I hear.

That's why I only put a half-cent's worth of credit into an item forwarded to me in e-mail. I wouldn't give that much but it partially coordinates with actual news.

The story is that Al Qaeda is reaching out to Blacks and other minorities.

Al-Zawahri encouraged minorities around the world to join the holy war, or jihad.

"Al-Qaeda is not merely for the benefit of Muslims," he said. "That's why I want blacks in America, people of color, American Indians, Hispanics, and all the weak and oppressed in North and South America, in Africa and Asia, and all over the world."

I have to wonder how much of this is true, but considering the guy arrested in Chicago who was sort of a "lone wolf" jihadist I have to at least lend it some credit.

Yes. I believe there are stupid people so foolish as to believe that Al Qaeda would give them something if they worked with them to bring about the fall of the United States. The Russians found them and they weren't offering ANY virgins.

Do I expect another group like the Fort Dix Six to actually make an attack? Possibly, though lone wolf operations are much, much more likely.

The unanswered questions (because the local press shied from asking) about the Safeway employee who went on a shooting rampage remains. The suppressed story of the Utah mall shooter being Muslim remains. I don't know what Cho the Coward meant by calling himself Ishmael but that's another set of unanswered questions.

Both the liberals and the Whitehouse don't want to call these acts of terrorism. To do so would be to admit that the Department of Homeland Security is a failure. It would also draw attention the liberals don't want to the fact that we have viper's nests in most parts of our country.

Al Quaeda can sow terror without having direct links to lone wolf operations. They don't have to support them financially. They can spread their filth by way of YouTube and other Internet offerings to get some cowardly punk to get his jihad on.

Our schools, all the way up to many if not most college campuses remain Victim Disarmament Zones. They will continue to be the targets of choice because the press loves to glorify the perpetrators. If a shooter IS a lone wolf jihadi the facts will be suppressed. While Al Quaeda likes to take credit they realize that they accomplish more by not linking to these directly.

They don't stand a chance at an Islamic takeover against an armed citizenry. They are strong in their own lands but can't manage the manpower to take over a nation as big as the U.S. unless they are assured of being the only ones armed. By letting their lone wolves be denied they strengthen the idiots, fools and evil-doers in our own country who want to make the United States into another European Castratiunion. The U.N. pushes this policy as does George Soros. Outside of John Stossel there aren't any MSM voices unmasking the false promise of gun control. They only let him get in one good lick in several years of bashing firearms owners as dangerous nutcases.

Our own government has an entire beauracracy dedicated to eradicating private firearms ownership. In most states, counties and cities there are strong movements to unconstitutionally disarm We The People. Bloomberg is only one disaster away from pulling a Katrina gun-confiscation and because the people of NYC have to register firearms the going will be easy.

The push to eradicating private firearms ownership isn't a rumor. The success of lone wolf jihadis isn't a rumor. Al Qaeda has the ability to enlist aid from people who don't look or sound Muslim. If we don't get serious about our nation's border security and ultra-serious about staying armed and vigilant we will have our nation taken away from us.

And that's no rumor.

And you don't mess around with Slim

Slim Frame or Short Frame?

I know most of the official press declares ithe G 21 SF to mean "Short Frame". It seems that everyone else has decided it stands for Slim Frame.

Either way it's the first revision of the 3rd Generation Glock in years. I know, guns aren't like cars or other consumer goods. The 1971 Cold Government Model is identical to the 1975 Colt Government Model.

I tend to look at the SF, though, as a Generation 3.5. It's not as radical as adding finger grooves (grrrrr!) or even forward and back stippling to the grip. The grip angle remains the same. There is still a big hollow space behind the magazine well. The biggest functional difference is a stock ambidextruous magazine release. This was something clearly done right and is one of the few things that Glock needed to learn from the XD.

Some things I wish they would unlearn from XD is lawyer triggers. I've become a spoiled puppy. I have had my triggers worked on so they are lighter, crisper. Around 3 lb but with less take up than I had on my 17L.

After going for a torture test this morning I am willing to confess to anything my 21 SF wants to hear me say. I think I hit 200 rounds and my trigger finger tip is still tender. I know, 200 rounds isn't even a break-in on a Glock. I don't think anything short of making it lay naked next to Rosie O'Donnell will make it so much as wince.

Of course it fed hardball. It fed hard-cast SWC and it fed "slow-ass Gold Dot". I'm tempted to try plugging spent cases back into the magazine to see if it will feed those.

None Dare Call It Ishmael

One drove a cab, three were roofers. Another worked at a 7-Eleven and a sixth at a supermarket. Their alleged plot to attack Fort Dix was foiled by another blue-collar worker: a video store clerk.

Great detective work there, FBI. Let's see, you got McVeigh because he was stupid enough to drive without a real license plate, the UNABOMBER because his family recognized his published manifesto and just how is that anthrax investigation going, guys? With a track record like yours it's a surprise that we haven't already turned into West Saudi Arabia.

But the real question on my mind isn't how the FBI couldn't manage to find J. Edgar Hoover's dresses inside his closet. No, I'm wanting to know where these guys got their money. None of the jobs mentioned give someone large amounts of disposable income yet these guys had money to burn, taking junkets to the Poconos to shoot, had a video camera and apparently enough cash to look into buying AKs, M-16s and RPGs. If 7-11 is paying that kind of dough I'm in the wrong racket.

I'm also peeved because at least two of these guys shouldn't have been in this country. Like several of the 19 hijackers on 9/11/01 you have alien living here after their papers expire living in the open and causing trouble.

Is this or is this not living proof that the outrage over illegal aliens invading our shores isn't "racial". Just because the majority are Mexicans doesn't mean all of them are. If our government were enforcing the existing laws then these guys and several of the 9/11/01 hijackers would have been in jail or another country.

We don't need immigration reform. We need border enforcement.

The men trained by playing paintball in the woods in New Jersey and taking target practice at a firing range in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains, where they had rented a house, authorities said.
Again, where did they get the money? Cab drivers? 7-11 Clerks? Roofers? WHERE DID THEY GET SO MUCH MONEY? They had a little place rented in the Poconos, money for toys, guns, ammo, video cameras. Where are these supposedly independent operators getting money for all this?

"If these people did something, then they deserve to be punished to the fullest extent of the law," said Sohail Mohammed, a lawyer who represented scores of detainees after the Sept. 11 attacks. "But when the government says `Islamic militants,' it sends a message to the public that Islam and militancy are synonymous."

"Don't equate actions with religion," he said.

Oh, right. Let's not jump to any conclusions about who should be up for extra scrutiny. Plenty of terror attacks by Methodists last year, right? Presbyterians on a rampage over cartoons, right?

Let's drop this "homegrown" bullsh*t right now, people. These guys weren't born or raised here. They came here and were intent on killing. They didn't come here to be citizens, they came to war against our government and our way of life.

I don't know what percentage of Muslims are guilty of the same sin and I don't need to know. I know what percentage of terrorists are Muslims.

Don't equate actions with religion? When the overwhelming majority of one's enemy are of the same religion then it is clear that we ARE at war with Muslims.

Someone needs to get records for that lawyer and find out where HIS money is coming from, too.

If you think IPSC belongs on a North Carolina pickup truck bumper...

You might be a redneck. Or you might have a redneck if you were taking an IPSC safety course today. I know I do.

If you just peeled off one of the blood blisters from slapping mags into your Glock and now you have a new one you might have a redneck.

Fun and educational. The fun was moving and shooting, knocking down poppers and steel plates. The education was finding out how horribly slow I draw and re-load and how utterly poorly I re-load my magazines when under the clock.

Two areas to work on that don't require actually being on a range since one can dry-practice both of them.

A VERY simplified El Presidente taught me about the slow draw and slow reload. Later on when running our little 32 round IPSC field course for the second time I found that I hadn't seated my magazine on my re-load. I found this out when the full magazine hit the ground while I was firing the round still in the chamber. Then the second full magazine also slid free of the chute as I was cycling the slide. Another was finally slapped home, slide racked and I finished the course of fire. The instructor did the course in 15 seconds. My second run was over 40. The instructor cut it to under 11 on his second run but missed one target.

Yes, my first run was under the 40 that I ran up due to re-loading errors. And it's a LOT better to find my errors in this atmosphere than if I ever need to do it in real crisis.

My shooting had acceptable accuracy, better than most of the other 5 students. I had a few misses on the steel and I had some early in the day when trying to fire 6 rounds at .25 seconds each. Distance to steel was 10 yards. I didn't hit the no-shoots.

I'm not clear to actually participate in IPSC matches and hope to be in one soon.

'Bout time I find out I'm the 142nd fastest gun in the west.

The Idiocy Meter Climbs

In Boston, once upon a time the cradle of free thought, a professor was fired for pointing a marker at some students and saying "pow, pow".

An adjunct professor was fired after leading a classroom discussion about the Virginia Tech shootings in which he pointed a marker at some students and said "pow."

The five-minute demonstration at Emmanuel College on Wednesday, two days after a student killed 32 people on the Virginia Tech campus, included a discussion of gun control, whether to respond to violence with violence, and the public's "celebration of victimhood," said the professor, Nicholas Winset.

During the demonstration, Winset pretended to shoot some students. Then one student pretended to shoot Winset to illustrate his point that the gunman might have been stopped had another student or faculty member been armed.

"A classroom is supposed to be a place for academic exploration," Winset, who taught financial accounting, told the Boston Herald.

This professor wasn't threatening anyone. It was clear that his marker wasn't a real gun. He didn't even use the phrase "nappy headed".

I don't think that it was the pointing and saying "pow, pow" that the college objected to. Not so long as the professor was pointing at students, playing the part of Cho the Coward.

No, I think what got the professor fired was continuing the discussion to the point where a student pointed and "pow"ed right back. The professor allowed the students to think about what might have happened if some of the deliberately disarmed victims of Cho the Coward had been armed.

Allowing students to think isn't what liberal arts colleges are for. They exist to TELL students what to think.

The college issued a statement saying: "Emmanuel College has clear standards of classroom and campus conduct, and does not in any way condone the use of discriminatory or obscene language."
Do you see any discrimatory or obscene language mentioned in the news article?

No, there is none mentioned. Unless you consider the concept of fighting back as obscene.

I think that's exactly what the college meant with their statement.

Navy Blue Angel Pilot killed

A Navy Blue Angel jet crashed during an air show Saturday, plunging into a neighborhood of small homes and trailers and killing the pilot, the county coroner said.

Nancy Pelosi has called an emergency session in the House to lead the Democrat party in setting a deadline for withdrawing all U.S. forces from airshows.

In a related story the Democrats offered the troops they bring home from Iraq money for college. A spokesperson for military personnel reportedly told Speaker Pelosi that the troops would rather use the money to stay in Iraq. "At least in Iraq we get to shoot back!"

Nancy Pelosi vowed to make sure that this situation is corrected by disarming our troops in Iraq.

To Nifong or not to Nifong, that is the question.

Whether 'tis nobler in the press to suffer the slings and errors of having to post facts or to take up arms and weild a sea of lies.

On 4/17/07 in the Denver airwaves Craig Silverman, a former prosecutor made an assertion without evidence. You'd think a lawyer would know better but since he was a prosecutor I guess that is part of the job description.

Silverman asserted, on the air, that the Clinton Assault Weapons Ban saved lives.

He the further compounded his assertion by stating that criminal gangs are arming with "assault weapons" in "burgeoning numbers."

Since I'm not a lawyer I have to actually work for a living. I listen to this radio show sometimes when the two co-hosts aren't being totally lame. I do have to deal with real life and can't hang around hoping these two self-inflating egos would deign to take my call.

I went home and when I could I used the contact button on the KHOW website to issue a challenge to Craig Silverman. I challenged him to back up his assertion that the AWB saved lives by posting actual crime statistics from the Justice Department or FBI. I also challenged him to post from the same sources evidence that criminal gangs are using assault weapons in large numbers.

I'm just a hard working person with a small blog. Craig Silverman is a lawyer who doubtless already pays for access to Lexis and has law enforcement contacts. He has a radio show and a website for that radio show. He has a staff to put things on that website.

I don't consider such a challenge to be onerous to someone who draws money from being a talking head. If he makes an assertion on the air then he should be able to back it up.

If, as I suspect, that he can't back up his claims then I demanded a full apology be posted on the same venue.

The ball is in Craig Silverman's court. Is he a man of honor or a Nifong?

BAG Day Doin's

I decided against buying a gun for BAG day this year. I'm focusing on specific shooting activities and attempting to avoid distractions that would lessen the impact of specific training I'm working on.

Well, that and I couldn't decide what I really wanted.

I did not spend BAG day without putting something into action, however. I gave myself training.

I took a course from a local instructor in defensive shooting with a handgun. The instructor isn't a gun-store commando or a mall ninja. He is a retired police trainer. Since he is not instructing civillians I'd have to say he doesn't fit the "Only Ones" mold. In point of fact he showed my fellow students Lee Paige's performance on the "Glock Foty".

Yesterday was all class room with almost no hands-on. We watched some videos and listened to the instructor. There were 8 people in attendance (2 more had registered but did not show up). Seven men and one woman (the wife of one of the men). We had some friendly times and a lot of fun on both days but nothing compares to trigger time and we got a lot of that in today.

This morning started with a drive down back country roads to a private shooting range. The owner and his son were very friendly to us and we had no problems from neighbors even when making lots of loud noise on a bright, sunny, very windy Sunday.

Safety was of primary importance. While some in the class were seasoned shooters there were some who were relatively new to the task. It was very wise of the instructor to start off with slow warm ups and to emphasize safety over realism at this phase with such a group.

Thankfully incredibly bad habits I had in my early years are not part of my current life. I did not get a "talkin' to" about my trigger finger or muzzle control. Some did, both early on and much later in the day when we were all rather tired.

Part of the warm up was to shoot a somewhat reduced PPC qualification round. The course of fire was 18 rounds from 20 yards, 18 rounds from 15 yards, 12 rounds from 10 yards and 6 rounds from each hand at 3 yards.

I've thought about posting about something I'd noticed over the past year and a half for some time. Each time I deleted such posts.

Not everyone shoots very well.

I probably got a complex about it because I made it a point to shoot with a group of people who really do shoot very well. I would occaisionally happen to see other people, though, who had the "spray and pray" philosophy down. Sometimes I would try to give some help if they seemed receptive.

The 8 people I was with today don't fall into that category. Everyone shot a very respectable score. After the warm up we shot the reduced PPC qualification course again for final score. No one turned in less than 80%. I've seen much worse at the gun clubs.

My target from the second qualification round is posted above. After shooting a 298 in practice I was able to turn it around and pull 300 or 100%. The lone woman in the class was second with 295 final score. Her good-natured husband had to put up with a lot of ribbing as she continued to surpass him. He was not bad, she was just better.

The really impressive score, to me, was turned in by another experienced shooter who was using his real carry gun, a S&W PD DAO with 1 7/8" barrel. Since several shooters had full-sized 1911 clones he turned in a very, very respectable performance. I don't think I could do as well with my 3" J-frame.

We did some reloading drills, first with one round in each magazine, then with three. My reloading speed sucks at 5.3 for the time between shot 1 and shot 2. I need to work on that. Six second to fire 3 and reload, then fire another three. It's clearly not the shooting that's taking up my time.

We took a break for lunch and after the break we went into some MILD simulations of the two-way range (as Fits calls it). We had plastic barrels we had to use for cover while firing at "threat" targets.

This was all done in a mild way. This portion was not done for score and we were not graded on our accuracy during this phase. We were being graded on tactical skills and handling our weapons.

The instructor did not allow drawing "hot" from the holster for the students at this level of training. That's another step up. Again, I consider this wise as he could not expect everyone to have good trigger and muzzle discipline, yet.

The first challenge involved moving at a run up to the first pair of targets and taking concealment (plastic barrels may be called 'cover' but are not by definition). We then drew, loaded and engaged, three rounds in each. Speed reload, move to the next concealment, engage with three rounds to each target, speed reload and then engage a single paper target consisting of three figures, two hostile and one don't-shoot.

My first runthrough I committed the same sin as everyone, I got too close to the concealment. Score B+. The plus was because I knocked over the middle barrel but continued to act, not siezing up.

We were treated to some "why you don't get up close on your cover" lessons and then it was time for another run-through. Some lost a + over forgetting to stay off the concealment but everyone did better the second time around. My grade was A++. I was granted this because after my initial loading I realized that I had not seated my magazine and did an immediate action drill and continued the exercise.

The final activity was more simple and rightly so as many errors that people hadn't been guilty of for most of the day started to come out. From a hot ready engage one target with six rounds, reload, move to the next station, engage with six, reload and then move to the final station and engage with your remaining six. This one didn't have as much realism but it was less a tactical exercise as a weapons-handling one. The instructor wanted to see people reloading without taking their eyes off the targets. I met that goal.

Today wasn't a typical BAG Day celebration but I'm happy with what I spent my money on. I may only have some paper to hang up to show for it but training is harder to come by than firearms. I've been shown areas that I need to improve upon and will be working on. Better to learn those lessons now than if I ever need them later. I have a chance to practice the rougher areas in the meanwhile.

Glocking report. My G 23 aquitted itself very well. There was one failure to load and I blame that on the ammo. I had taken my big can of Miwall factory reloads, not the new stuff I'd been saving. I burned up a lot of it and the only somewhat mechanical issue was that failure to go fully into battery with one round. When we got that round to seat it fired and extracted without any difficulty.

My problem with not fully seating magazines was evident and is another rough spot to work on. That happened twice.

Carrying signs saying "Amnesty Now," about 15,000 people danced to Mexican ranchera music and passed large American flags over their heads.
The photograph shows a U.S. flag, but it also shows a Mexican flag.

The issue I have here is that this isn't about immigration. It's about invasion. Now the invaders don't think that the too-generous plan to reward them for breaking the law is generous enough.

Organizers said many illegal immigrants [ALIENS! NOT IMMIGRANTS!] were angry about a White House plan that would grant them work visas but require them to return home and pay thousands of dollars to become legal U.S. residents.

"Charging that much, Bush is going to be even more expensive than the coyotes," said protester Armando Garcia, 50, referring to smugglers who transport people across the Mexican border.

First up, boo-f*ckin'-hoo. They are angry that they are being offered too much and want more? Then show us how angry you are. Go home. Don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya! What, are you still here?

More whining. Is that a job American's won't do? I thought liberals pretty much gave that away. I don't know why we needed to let an illegal alien come here to do it.

Alfredo Gonzalez, 33, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, marched with his wife and daughters, ages 6 and 8. He said he fears the stepped-up immigration raids occurring across the country.

"If they kick me out, who is going to take care of my daughters? The government? I don't think so," he said. "We need full legalization and need it now."

Um. Alfredo, is it? Or is that what is printed on the phony papers you are carrying this week? Maybe YOU should take care of your daughters. In Mexico. They are you children, right? If we send you back then why shouldn't your illegal brats go?

Ah, yes. That misinterpretation of the 14th Ammendment. Funny how people who can't read the clear words in the 2nd somehow read in entire paragraphs that don't exist in the 14th. Because you managed to enter this country illegally you now claim your kids are citizens by dint of geography.

You know what? I have no problem with that. We'll just toss them into a state run orphanage until they are 18. They won't have any contact with you or your illegal alien wife. Okay? Sound fair? We'll keep the citizen and throw back the illegal. Okay, Alfredo? Your daughters will grow up just fine without anyone teaching them to speak Mexican Spanish. When they ask we'll tell them that mommy and daddy didn't want to take them with them when they went back home. That's the truth, isn't it, Alfredo?

If I take my wife down to Mexico and she has a baby while we are LEGALLY visiting what citizenship is that baby? Just one. U.S. citizen. We take the baby home with us because the baby isn't Mexican. You don't want to see it that way, Alfredo so we'll continue to be generous and accomodate you. Your daughters will be great in that orphanage with all the other babies their parent's didn't want.

Immigrant rights advocates say many of the area's illegal immigrants feel betrayed by President Bush, who they had long considered an ally.

Betrayed, Alfredo? You aren't a citizen, according to the article. How could a man you can't vote for betray you? I can consider him as having betrayed ME because I can vote and he is MY president. YOUR president is down in Mexico City. If you did cast a vote in a U. S. election then you have committed yet another crime. Is that what you are saying, Alfredo? Did you commit additional crimes since you invaded my country?

Bush can't betray people he doesn't work for. You can't (legally) vote. He doesn't work for you. The ONLY way in which you can claim that he betrayed you is if you provided him a vote which you can not legally cast.

Yet more whining. I swear by all that is holy that we have enough Americans willing to whine. We do NOT need to import aliens to do that job!

"Last year, we were fighting for legalization, and this year we are fighting for legalization and against all these raids," said Maria Lopez, 50, an illegal immigrant who works as a seamstress and sends $200 a month home to family members in Mexico.

"We have no way to come up with that much money, and Bush knows that," she said. "He is doing this on purpose so we don't ever become legal residents."

Hey, Maria, have you met Alfredo? You two have so much in common.

Listen, both of you. Everyone else waving Mexican flags, too. You don't like this deal. I don't like this deal. We have found common ground. So let's come up with a common solution to a common problem.

You go home. You build a wall to keep us from "luring" (per Geraldo The Short) you up here. Just put up a great big wall on YOUR side of the border. We want one but we can't get our politicians to put first things first. You can build it cheaper, right? Lower cost labor and all that? Isn't that what you are offering to this nation that you are invading? Lower cost labor? Now we are just wanting you to put that labor to use on your own soil to solve a problem both nations have.

You go home, build the wall and wait for me to call upon you to tear it down. You won't have to worry about a man you can't legally vote for betraying you. You don't have to worry about how much we might fine you for breaking the laws while giving you something you couldn't buy in the first place.

More hyporcrisy in the press

Three Yale students arrested for burning U.S. flag

No, John Kerry wasn't one of them. This time.

Three Yale University students, including a Briton and a Greek national, have been charged in a case involving the burning of a U.S. flag outside a Connecticut house, a court official said on Wednesday.
These three miscreants didn't have the descency to buy their own flag to burn. They decided to torch one someone else was flying from their own place.

I'm reminded of how American citizens, righteously perturbed at illegal aliens, vented their anger on a Mexican flag they were called racists. Was there any charge of racism against the Briton or Greek? Nope. Not being called a hate crime.

Don't you know that only white people can commit hate crimes? And if the person is a liberal or from another culture the perpetrator is magically not able to be committing a hate crime even if the only conceivable motive is hatred?

What is the motive for someone to set fire to another person's property when the only thing they know about that person is that they are flying a U.S. flag? Is that not hatred?

Were I to travel to Boston and set fire to a common gay symbol, the rainbow flag hanging from a stranger's house would I be charged with a hate crime? I'd bet money that I would.

Oh, and the U.S. citizen?

Akbar, a senior, was born in Pakistan but is a U.S. citizen,...
The Briton? One "Farhad Anklesaria". I'm sorry, but I don't recall many Anklesarias among the guys William the Bastard brought over from Normandy. Just how British is he?

What I see is two Muslim-appearing names and one Greek who are all enjoying the priveledges of going to a U.S. university that I couldn't afford to go to who decided that they wanted to show how much they hate the U.S.

I'm sure that some people would call me "racist" for thinking ill of these asswipes. How dare I think that jerks who are buying an education in my country should have some respect for it.

Let me ask one more intemperate question. What would happen to me if I were to go to Pakistan and burn their flag? What about in Greece? I'm not talking about arson, as these jerks did. I mean one I bought with my own money and then burned? Chances are lynching would be one of the lighter likely outcomes.

Would the people of Greece or Pakistan be accused of racism for doing it to me?

The Thinking Blogger Award

I've been tagged by Fits at Shooting The Messenger for the Thinking Blogger Award. This award seems to have begun at Bennings Writing Pad when he got tagged.

I'm flattered that Fits would find my contributions to his and other blogs and my occaisional postings here to be worthy of this honor.

By the rules of this award I need to tag five other blogs that I feel worthy of the award. Since Fits tagged me I think tag-backs are out. Patrick Joubert had tagged Fits and also tagged Mr. Calhoon.

Though I don't patrol his blog as often as I do others the blogger who I can blame for starting me down this path was Xavier, so he's going to top my list.

Xavier Thoughts is the work of a fellow RN. His blog will entertain, amuse and make you think.

Victor Davis Hanson has a site that is more commercial than blog but his frequent postings are always thought provoking.

El Presidente gives me a more local flavor. Though I will be leaving the Peoples Republic of Kalifornirado in the near future I hope that it will one day be Colorado again.

Oscar Poppa is the home of Civis Proliator. A staunch constitutionalist he carries on the good fight from my future home of Texas.

My final nominee is News From the Border. This blog has the joyless task of reporting on the invasion we face.

I hope that by tagging to some of the places that get my neurons firing, or at least my dander up I'll have lead folks to discover some new frequent haunts for themselves.

Here's Bob!

From the Desk of Bob Beauprez

Dear Hyunch,
Because we believe that the next presidential election will be a defining moment
in shaping the future of this nation, we have taken the unusual step of making an
early commitment to the person we are convinced should be elected President in 2008.
His name is Mitt Romney.

We have had the opportunity to learn a great deal about Mitt and we are impressed
by what he has achieved - as a husband and father, as a successful businessman, and
as the Governor of Massachusetts who brought conservative governing principles to
a state famous for its liberal tendencies. He and his wife Ann have raised five wonderful
boys, always putting family first. All five sons are married and have given the Romneys
ten grandchildren - so far. Theirs is a family that embodies the values that we,
as Americans, treasure.

As you may know, the invisible primary - the fundraising deadline of March 31st -
is quickly approaching. Presidential candidates will be judged by political pundits
across the country on the amount of money they have raised in the past three months.
We would be pleased if you would join us in supporting
Mitt Romney today [http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=kkvva5bab.0.rodid5bab.xptll9bab.688&ts=S0235&p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.mittromney.com%2Fcontribution%2Fform] with a generous contribution so that he can make a big splash
in the invisible primary. The current maximum for an individual is $2,300 (or $4,600
per couple) per election. Federal multi-candidate PACs may contribute $5,000 per
election. We strongly urge you to consider making
a contribution [http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=kkvva5bab.0.rodid5bab.xptll9bab.688&ts=S0235&p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.mittromney.com%2Fcontribution%2Fform] of any amount to Governor Romney today.

Mitt Romney believes strongly in the core principles of free enterprise, fair and
free trade, accountability in education, personal responsibility, tolerance, strong
families, and a national defense second to none. More than that, however, we are
amazed at what he accomplished during his term as Governor of Massachusetts - strengthening
education, laying the foundation for private, market-based health insurance for all,
and cutting the size and cost of government.

Specifically, without raising taxes or increasing debt, Governor Romney closed a
$3 billion deficit in his first year in office. Each year, Governor Romney filed
a balanced budget without raising taxes. By eliminating waste, streamlining the government,
and enacting comprehensive economic reforms to stimulate growth in Massachusetts,
he got the economy moving again and transformed deficits into surpluses.

At the peak of his business career, he was asked to take over the 2002 Winter Olympics
in Salt Lake City. You may remember that the Olympics were beset by scandal and had
fallen deeply into debt. Romney took over and, as he had done with so many companies,
he went to work turning things around. The
result was the most successful and profitable Olympics in history [http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=kkvva5bab.0.rodid5bab.xptll9bab.688&ts=S0235&p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.mittromney.com%2Fcontribution%2Fform] - even in
the face of security concerns following 9/11.

We share these stories about Mitt Romney because we believe that he possesses not
only the right political philosophy, but also the experience and leadership skills
necessary to guide this great nation. We encourage you to learn more about Mitt Romney
by visiting his website at www.mittromney.com [http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=kkvva5bab.0.podid5bab.xptll9bab.688&ts=S0235&p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mittromney.com%2F].
We are confident that once you do, you will understand why we are actively supporting
Mitt Romney for President.

Should you like to make a contribution, we ask that you contribute
online [http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=kkvva5bab.0.rodid5bab.xptll9bab.688&ts=S0235&p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.mittromney.com%2Fcontribution%2Fform] by credit card to ensure that your contribution is counted before March
31st. If, for whatever reason, you do not wish to contribute online, you may contribute
by check or credit card by printing and filling out the donor form found
here [http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=kkvva5bab.0.sodid5bab.xptll9bab.688&ts=S0235&p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.mittromney.com%2Fcontribution_form.pdf]. Please include '10001' as the Fundraiser ID and FCO001 as the Source
Code on either form.

If you are contributing with a donor form, we kindly ask that you return it today
so that Mitt may receive it in time to count your contribution towards this quarter.
Please fax donor forms containing credit card contributions to (866) 891-3307. Alternatively,
you may mail donor forms and any checks to the following address: Romney for President,
Inc., P.O. Box 55899, Boston, MA 02205. All checks must be made payable to "Romney
for President, Inc." and if you are making a contribution as a couple from a joint
account and your contribution is to be attributed to both of you, please ensure that
both of you sign the donor form and any check.

Please show your early support by making
a contribution today [http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=kkvva5bab.0.rodid5bab.xptll9bab.688&ts=S0235&p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.mittromney.com%2Fcontribution%2Fform]. In addition, we also encourage you to join Team
Mitt [http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=kkvva5bab.0.todid5bab.xptll9bab.688&ts=S0235&p=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.mittromney.com%2Fvolunteer%2Fform], the Romney campaign's national grassroots support network. By doing
so, the campaign will keep you informed of the latest activity and let you know about
opportunities to make a difference.

We thank you for your consideration. Should you have any questions, please don't
hesitate to contact us.

Warm regards,

Bob & Claudia Beauprez

Dear Bob,

Thank you for taking the time to write to me regarding your feelings about Mitt Romney. Mind if I ask a few questions?

First, what actions did Mitt Romney take to keep illegal aliens from residing in Massachusetts or taking jobs from real citizens and legal immigrants?

Second, what did Mitt Romney do to restore the rights of gun owners in Massachusetts?

Third, why would I throw good money after bad in giving to Romney after I lost money backing you to run for Governor last year? You do remember last year, don't you, Bob? You lost the race to a guy who was all but kissing illegal alien keester on public television. Why was that? Because you were caught being a hypocrite. Your bank was giving accounts to illegal aliens, Bob.

Now, you WERE better than the former Denver DA who let illegal alien drug pushers go on misdemeanor pleas that let them stay in the United States so they could molest little girls.

If I have to back a lost cause for 2008 then why wouldn't I give my money to someone else from Colorado who has a real agenda and a better track record than Romney? Someone like Tom Tancredo?

Oh, yeah. I fogot. I already did give to him. That means there is nothing left for your friend Mitt.

Sorry,
Hyunch.

Ain't Dat Pitiful?

I'll admit it. I read gun pron.

Guns, American Handgunner, Guns & Ammo. If I can find a stack of them being given away I'm in hog heaven, no matter how out of date they are.

This morning I picked up the latest copy of American Handgunner and noticed that they had a feature story on the Wilson ADP. This is Wilson Combat's rendition of a polymer pistol.

Today while gobbling my lunch in my car before returning to work I read through the story. The pictures of the pistol were, as usual, wonderful. The story the magazine told of the pistol made me hope that everyone who considers this pistol reads the review.

Let me say that I don't know anything about Wilson Combat. I have no axe to grind. I don't own any of their products nor have I ever even held on that I can recall.

That said I think this pistol was a major mistake for them. I'd read somewhere previously that this ADP had originally appeared before under another gun makers' label and it hadn't been reliable or well made. The review of the Wilson ADP seems to back up that impression.

Reliability. The review goes to great lengths to talk about how this pistol is for "carry alot, shoot little". The test shooting was usually halted around the 100'th round because the pistol stopped functioning with anything like reliability.

Ergonomics. The reviewer talks about the fingers bumping the safety button during firing. Then mentions how when shooting it left handed he was hitting the magazine release while firing. Not good. Very not good.

What I don't understand is why a company that others seem to favor with high honors and higher prices felt the need to market a pistol that will do nothing positive for their reputation. The images in the magazine were glowing. The story under the pictures was anything but.

The writer tried in vain to put some positive spin on this one but I feel the magazine is likely to see advertising money from Wilson go bye-bye after this issue hits wide circulation.

I can see why a major maker would need a polymer pistol to compete against Glock. I don't see why a smaller maker would invest in such a project unless they really had a design that would one-up the best-in-class product.

They will no doubt sell many to people who know the Wilson name. I also have no doubt that in about two years these pistols will be on the remainder rack at CDNN for dirt cheap prices.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it would take some powerful convincing before I'd plunk down half the MSRP for this pistol, let along anything near it.

Winkin', Plinkin' and Nod

Tonight I went to the range and just had some fun. Educational fun, for my part, but fun.

Having picked up a stack of as-yet unbroken clay birds from the trap field I scattered them on the 30 Meter berm on the silhouette range and began busting clays. These birds are bigger than even the ram used in smallbore silhouette and this was the closest berm. Not a lot of challenge. Just fun.

Having something break when you hit it is fun!

Sunday, March 25, 2007

I see a little silhouetto of a ram...

Ten of them, actually and I actually managed to hit on them. For me, my experie
